  • Publication number: 20110190481
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an inexpensive and simple extraction method for a sialic acid-containing compound from a raw material which is easily available and has no risk of contamination with pathogens affecting animals (raw material which has high safety) without requiring the use of a reagent harmful to the human body and environment. The present invention is also aimed at providing an extraction method for a sialic acid-containing compound, the method comprising: crudely extracting a soluble component from a plant body (in particular, seeds of cereal and/or seeds of bean) or a processed product of the plant body with water, an alcohol, or an aqueous alcohol; and separating and recovering the sialic acid-containing compound from the resultant crude extract solution by dialysis, salt precipitation, or column chromatography.

  • Publication number: 20110040084
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an extraction method for a sialic acid-containing compound from a natural raw material, which has no risk of contamination with pathogens affecting animals, can achieve mass production, and does not require the use of an organic solvent harmful to the environment and human body. Provided is an extraction method for a water-soluble sialic acid-containing compound, the method comprising: crudely extracting a water-soluble component with water, polyol, or water containing either an acid or an alkali or polyol from a plant body or a processed product of the plant body, in particular, seeds of cereal or seeds of bean; and separating and recovering the water-soluble sialic acid-containing compound from the resultant crude extract solution with a column packed with a serotonin affinity support.

  • Patent number: 6696207
Abstract: The present invention employs ester compounds such as butyl acetate, oleyl acetate and the like that are typically employed in solvents and other applications as an agent for improving the fluidity of a pigment dispersion liquid. The pigment composition of the present invention includes a pigment and the aforementioned ester compound as essential components. A pigment dispersion liquid in which the present invention's pigment composition is dispersed in a solvent or the like demonstrates a great improvement in pigment dispersibility and dispersion liquid flow properties. When the present invention's pigment composition and pigment dispersion liquid are employed in a color filter, it is possible to obtain a uniform paint film having high contrast.

  • Patent number: 3962659
Abstract: A leaf spring and contact arrangement for an electromagnetic switch. A movable contact has a magnetic body attached thereto and is restrained by side arms secured to a housing and bent arms connecting the contact member to the side arms. The side arms are arranged symmetrically about the center of gravity of the movable contact. The contact member, side arms and bent arms are all in substantially the same plane. A magnetic force overcoming the restraining force causes movement of the movable contact in a direction perpendicular to said plane. The leaf spring may be formed in a repeat pattern consisting of a plurality of movable contacts each having a pair of bent arms associated therewith for connecting the movable contact to the secured side arms.
