  • Patent number: 6622576
Abstract: A torque sensor is provided with a coil whose inductance changes in accordance with variation in torque acting on an object. The torque is detected on the basis of the inductance of the coil. Specifically, the torque sensor includes a first oscillation circuit for detecting the inductance of the coil and for oscillating a signal having a period corresponding to the detected inductance. The period of the signal generated by the first oscillation circuit is detected by a period detection section. A torque detection section detects the torque on the basis of the period detected by the period detection section.

  • Patent number: 6445151
Abstract: In a controller for a motor-driven power steering mechanism, a motor control section outputs to a drive circuit a control signal corresponding to a torque command output from a torque calculation section. A digital signal processor receives the control signal, calculates an average of values of the control signal during a predetermined period of time, and outputs the average to an anomalous-state monitor section. The anomalous-state monitor section counts the number of times the average deviates from an allowable range. When the number of times has reached a predetermined number, the anomalous-state monitor section judges that the controller has come into an anomalous-state, and outputs a control prohibition signal to the motor control section.

  • Patent number: 5928784
Abstract: Proposed is an electret fiber which is an insolubilized polyvinyl alcohol fiber containing 0.05 to 0.5% by weight of tourmaline particles having a particle diameter not exceeding 0.3 .mu.m. The electret fiber is effective for invigoration of human body by promoting blood circulation and also effective for decreasing the BOD value of sewage water by activating the bacteria in the activated sludge. The electret fiber is prepared by spinning a spinning solution of the polyvinyl alcohol containing the tourmaline particles into the form of a fiber which is then subjected to an insolubilization treatment by a heat treatment, formalization with formaldehyde or acetalization with glutaraldehyde.

  • Patent number: 5767461
Abstract: An elevator group supervisory control system for selecting the most suitable car among a plurality of elevators, when a hall call is made, to assign to the hall call, comprising: temporary assigning means for temporarily assigning the car by a conventional method such as a fuzzy group supervisory control based on group data representing states of the elevator system at the moment when a new hall call is made; and a neural net for receiving numerical values converted from group data including the result of judgment of the temporary assigning means and outputting an assignment fitness of each elevator. It decides the most suitable elevator from the output pattern of the neural net to assign to the hall call.

  • Patent number: 5664071
Abstract: A graphics plotting apparatus has a decision unit for determining whether or not a polygon is smaller than a predetermined size, for example, the size of a pixel on a display screen or the size of a pixel on a texture pattern according to data of the vertexes of the polygon, a divider for dividing the polygon into small polygons if the polygon is not smaller than the predetermined size, and a plotting unit for plotting pixels corresponding to the polygon if the polygon is smaller than the predetermined size. This apparatus is capable of plotting perspective three-dimensional graphics with smooth shading and texture mapping at a high speed in real time.

  • Patent number: 5422997
Abstract: A texture address generator has a first register for storing an n-th cycle texture address, a second register for storing an increment for the n-th cycle texture address, a third register for storing a constant for updating contents in the second register, an adder for adding the texture address stored in the first register to the increment stored in the second register, for each cycle, and for updating contents of the first register with a result of the addition, for each cycle, and multiplier for multiplying the increment stored in the second register by the constant stored in the third register, for each cycle, and updating contents of the second register with a result of the multiplication, for each cycle.

  • Patent number: 5287324
Abstract: A multiport DRAM having a DRAM cell array; a sequential access memory (SAM) for inputting data of a specific length to the DRAM cell array and transmitting that data to an external device; a SAM address counter for counting the addresses of the data in the SAM; a serial port connected to the SAM for transmitting the data in the SAM to an external device; a data transfer address counter, the contents of which is cleared by inputting an external reset signal and is counted up by inputting an overflow signal which is output from the SAM address counter; and a data transfer controller for outputting a data transfer status signal which indicates that data transmission is in progress when data of a specific length in the DRAM cell array designated by the input of the overflow signal by the data transfer address counter is transmitted to the SAM.

  • Patent number: 5241654
Abstract: Coordinate values of control points of a given Bezier curve are stored in a register, the contents of the register are supplied to a determination circuit to determine whether a distance between adjacent control points can further be bisected into two parts. If bisecting processing can be performed, the contents of the register are supplied to a bisection circuit, the Bezier curve is subdivided into two parts to generate new Bezier curves, and control point data of one of the new Bezier curves is applied to a stack memory and that of the other new Bezier curve is sent to the register. The contents of the register are checked by the determination circuit each time the contents of the register are updated.
