  • Publication number: 20020140691
Abstract: At the time when displaying moving images using liquid crystal panels and others, there is such a problem that tail streaks occur, and resultantly image degradation is caused. In order to solve this problem, an echo suppression circuit 100 divides a video signal into a pair composed of two successive frames for comparison between these two frames in signal level for the purpose of suppressing an echo phenomenon occurring when a liquid crystal panel 108 displays video signals including moving images. If these two frames are not the same in signal level, the signal is accordingly so corrected as to equalize the signal level of those. Based on the video signals and others corrected by the echo suppression circuit 100, a controller 102 operates the liquid crystal panel with Alternating-Current drive through a source driver 104 and a gate driver 106. As such, the drive voltage used to operate the liquid crystal panel with AC drive is so adjusted as to be balanced between positive and negative.

  • Publication number: 20020140888
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device comprises two substrates (111, 134), two electrodes (115, 133) arranged between the substrates (111, 134), a liquid crystal layer (120) disposed between the electrodes (115, 133) and having a retardation when giving a black display, and retardation layers (116, 132) positioned between the liquid crystal layer (120) and the substrates (111, 134). The sum of the retardation value of the liquid crystal layer (120) and the retardation values of the retardation layers (116, 132) is approximately zero for light incident on the substrate (134) when a voltage for giving the black display is applied across the electrodes (115, 133).

  • Patent number: 6083501
Abstract: A drug for prevention and therapy of diseases caused by fibrinoid formation or thrombus formation, as well as a model animal of fibrinoid formation or thrombus formation in the lung is disclosed. The drug for preventing and treating diseases caused by fibrinoid formation or thrombus formation in the lung according to the present invention comprises an inhibitor of interleukin 6 as an effective ingredient. The model animal of the diseases caused by fibrinoid formation or thrombus formation in the lung is a rat in which fibrinoid formation or thrombus formation actually occurs by induction with interleukin 6.

  • Patent number: 4117255
Abstract: An insulator bushing for high d-c voltage input to be used in an electric precipitator, etc. is designed to internally produce jet flows of sealing gas covering the insulator member. While ingress of dust-laden gas passing through the precipitator into the bushing is thereby prevented thus keeping the interior of the bushing clean, the necessary quantity of sealing gas to be supplied can be economically reduced.
