  • Publication number: 20100332575
Abstract: A method of generating a sequence of random bits is disclosed. The method comprises steps of (a) generating a stream of photons using a laser; (b) attenuating said series of photons; (c) reflecting at least a part of said stream of photons from a reflector positioned such that at least part of said stream of photons is directed from said reflector into the cavity of said laser; (d) directing a part of said stream of photons to a detector such that a signal proportional to the intensity of the radiation falling on said detector is produced; (e) sampling the AC component of said signal at a plurality of times, thereby obtaining a sampled signal comprising a sequence of data points; (f) obtaining the nth time derivative of said sampled signal over at least a portion of said sample signal; and (g) adding the m least significant bits (LSBs) of said nth time derivative to said sequence. By this method, truly random sequences of bits can be obtained at rates of up to at least 300 GBits/s.

  • Publication number: 20040109507
Abstract: A signal encoded with a linear block code is iteratively decoded using a sequential updating method. The sequential updating method calculates check-to-variable messages and variable-to-check messages such that intra-iteration information is exchanged. In some embodiments, a partial horizontal pass of a column of the matrix is followed by a vertical pass of the column using the results of the partial horizontal pass. In other embodiments, a partial vertical pass of a row of the matrix is followed by a horizontal pass of the row using the results of the partial vertical pass.

  • Publication number: 20030223579
Abstract: A method for a secure public key cryptography employing a parity check error-correcting code, and noise signals, comprises a) creating a communication channel; b) providing a set of private cryptographic keys which are assigned to each of the entities utilizing said secure public cryptography, wherein each of said private cryptographic keys may be accessed only by the entity it was assigned to; c) providing a set of public cryptographic keys assigned to entities utilizing said secure public-key cryptography; and d) providing a set of random private noise signals, or generating the same using a random private noise signal generator; the method further comprises ciphering vectors of information by adding a noise signal to the information vector before encryption and/or after the encryption.
