  • Publication number: 20190139403
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for vehicle technology that detects one or more differences between a crowdsourced map of an ambient environment and a real-time volumetric map of the ambient environment and sends a first message via a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) link, wherein the difference(s) are represented in the first message at a first resolution. Additionally, the vehicle technology sends a second message via a vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) link, wherein the difference(s) are represented in the second message at a second resolution, and wherein the first resolution is less than the second resolution. Moreover, server technology may integrate a first octree representation and a second octree representation into a dynamic layer associated with the crowdsourced map.

  • Patent number: 10284654
Abstract: Various techniques for collection and processing of motor vehicle telematics data and establishing control over access to the telematics data are disclosed herein. In an example, a communication device (e.g., a computing device) operated by an owner or operator of a motor vehicle operates to receive telematics data from a telematics system, generate and transmit a derived indication of the telematics data (e.g., using a hash of the data), receive and process a request for information from the telematics data, and generate and transmit an answer and proof of the answer validity in response to the request for information. In an example, the proof of the answer validity may be provided as a zero knowledge proof. The proof may be verified using the derived indication of the telematics data, such as from an indication that is stored in a public distributed blockchain that is auditable and unalterable.

  • Publication number: 20190051179
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting rogue vehicles within a plurality of vehicles connected via a vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) are provided. Sensors on each VANET vehicle provide host vehicle data and data associated with other nearby vehicles. Each VANET vehicle multicasts information that includes location, velocity, and preferred future travel path to the other VANET vehicles. Using data from sensors and data received from other VANET vehicles the host vehicle generates a dynamic set of safe vehicle operating behaviors. Nearby vehicles that do not comply with the determined safe vehicle operating behaviors or perform illegal/unsafe acts are identified as rogue vehicles. Data associated with identified rogue vehicles is transmitted to all VANET vehicles.
