  • Publication number: 20210348613
Abstract: A submersible well pump has a rotatable drive shaft extending through pump stages. Each of the stages has a diffuser, an impeller and a bushing fixed for non-rotation in the diffuser. A thrust member has a lower side in sliding rotating engagement with the upward facing surface of the bushing. The bushing and the thrust member are of a harder material than the diffuser and the impeller. A drive member of a softer material than the thrust member is in engagement with the thrust member and has a drive member bore through which the shaft extends. A key extends through the shaft groove, the impeller groove and the drive member groove to cause the impeller and thrust member to rotate with the shaft.

  • Publication number: 20210289794
Abstract: The invention comprises methods for decreasing colonization by a bacterium of a gut of a stink bug, the method comprising providing a composition comprising vanillin or an analog thereof; and delivering said composition to an egg from which the stink bug will hatch, whereby colonization by the bacterium within the gut of the stink bug hatched from the egg treated with the composition is decreased relative to a stink bug hatched from an untreated egg. In some embodiments, the decrease in colonization by the bacterium decreases the fitness of the stink bug, e.g., decreases reproductive ability, survival, rate of development, number of eggs, number of hatched eggs, adult emergence rate, body length, body width, body mass, or cuticle thickness. In some embodiments of the methods herein, the bacterial colonization-disrupting agent is an inhibitor of bacterial metabolism. In some embodiments, the bacterial colonization-disrupting agent is a polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) synthesis inhibitor.

  • Patent number: 10941779
Abstract: A centrifugal well pump assembly has a non-rotating diffuser between upper and lower rotating impellers. The upper impeller has a cylindrical skirt on a lower side that rotates within a diffuser receptacle. The lower impeller has a cylindrical balance ring on an upper side that rotates within a diffuser cavity. Impeller sleeves are bonded to the skirt and balance ring. Diffuser sleeves are bonded to the diffuser receptacle and cavity. The diffuser sleeves are of a harder material than the impeller sleeves. Each of the impeller sleeves has upper, intermediate and lower circumferential rows of inserts. Each insert has a face flush with the impeller sleeve and is in sliding engagement with one of the diffuser sleeves. The inserts in the intermediate row may be rotationally staggered relative to the inserts in the upper and lower rows to create serpentine flow paths for well fluid leakage.

  • Publication number: 20200340481
Abstract: A well fluid pump has a housing with a stator having a stack of discs through which windings extend. First and second stage modules in a bore of the stator have rotating impellers and non-rotating diffusers. Magnets mounted in each of the stage modules rotate the impellers in response to electromagnetic fields generated by the windings. Anti-rotation members join adjacent ones of the impellers together in each of the stage modules for rotation in unison. A bearing assembly between the first and second stage modules has a rotatable inner portion in engagement with the impellers in the first and second stage modules for causing them to rotate in unison. The bearing assembly has a non-rotating outer portion in engagement with the stator to prevent rotation.
