  • Patent number: 4938115
Abstract: In an arrangement for combatting ground targets by a projectile launched m a flying weapons carrier, a launching device is located in the weapons carrier for directing the projectile in a downward and rearwardly inclined direction relative to the flight direction of the weapons carrier. An aiming system connected to control units adjusts the horizontal velocity of the weapons carrier to the same magnitude as the oppositely directed ejection velocity of the projectile. The projectile can be released in the nadir above the target.

  • Patent number: 4675677
Abstract: A system for manned or unmanned flying bodies detects covered or hidden targets on the ground by using relatively "longwave" radar radiation for immediately attacking such ground targets, which may be covered by trees for example, but located on a strip of ground extending with a given width below the flight path of the flying body travelling in low altitude flight. Four radar receiver antennas are equally spaced from each other along the wings of the flying body and one transmitter antenna is located between two pairs of receiver antennas. The receiver signals are submitted by a fast Fourier transformation for providing a wavefront reconstruction. The so transformed, received signals are then evaluated in accordance with the known SAR principle directly as the signals are received and transformed by correlation with expected signal functions, so-called reference function, for producing a control signal for the direct or indirect discharge of a weapon.

  • Patent number: 4494437
Abstract: In a low-flying weapons carrier, such as a manned or remote control aircr, a weapon is arranged to fire steeply downwardly at ground targets. The weapon can fire a plurality of separate ammunition members. A release for the weapon is located in the weapons carrier and a target detector separate from the weapon is associated with the release. The target detector is directed steeply downwardly parallel to the velocity vector of the ammunition members to be discharged by the weapon.
