  • Publication number: 20220266089
Abstract: Proposed are an aquatic exercise apparatus and a method for exercising aimed at improving mobility of a user by exercising in water. The apparatus consists of base support and a balance board, which is connected to the base support via a resilient body that allows tilting of the balance board in any direction and a mechanism that provides free rotation of the balance board. Exercising in water allow people with mobility deficits to perform exercises without a fear of falling, decreasing pain, and improving cardiovascular return.

  • Patent number: 6022368
Abstract: An acupuncture method and a device for combining acupuncture with therapeutic physical exercises and/or water therapy. The device comprises a convex enclosure made of a resilient material such as rubber, which is capable of resuming initial full convex shape after being subjected to vertical downward pressure, and a small acupuncture needle the upper portion of which is molded into the enclosure. The open end face of the enclosure is sealed with an adhesive tape which seals the interior of the enclosure. The tip of the needle protrudes through this adhesive tape. In operation, the device is attached to the skin of a patient at the site of particular acupuncture point, and the acupucturist applies a to the needle via the top of the dome-like enclosure so that the tip of the needle penetrates the skin of the patient at the site of acupuncture point. The patient starts to perform therapeutic exercises on land or in the water, experiencing barely noticeable sensation.

  • Patent number: 6012941
Abstract: A set of two locking devices for permanently securing in place a detachable socket of an electric power supply cable and for preventing access to the electric plug on the opposite end of the cable. Both devices are locked by the same key which is used for tightening bolts on the locking device of the socket and for locking a box-like enclosure around the plug. The set is intended for preventing access of unauthorized individuals to electric appliances, instruments and devices. It is also intended for limiting access by children to electric appliances, as well as to television and video games in the absence of parental supervision.

  • Patent number: 5792171
Abstract: A method of underwater acupuncture which advantageously uses a synergistic effect resulting from a combined use of acupuncture and a water therapy treatment. A device for carrying out the method comprises an enclosure (11) which is sealed at one end and has a flange (33) on the opposite open end. The sealed end has a resilient tip (22) and supports a sterile acupuncture needle (26) inside the enclosure. The flange has an adhesive outer tape (32) for sealingly attaching the device to the skin of a patient in the area of an acupuncture point. The acupuncture needle (26) is guided through a longitudinal channel (14) of a guide tube (24) inserted into the enclosure (11) and can be brought into contact with the skin of the patient by pushing on the aforementioned resilient tip (22).

  • Patent number: 5372565
Abstract: A universal exercise machine comprising a belt portion (20), which is to be fixed as a conventional belt to the waist of the user. The belt portion (20) has on its upper and lower sides rings (40-56) for the attachment of elastic straps (22-30) which are connected to the hands, legs, and head of the user, for various exercises based on the application of force required for the stretching of the elastic straps. A distinguishing feature of the machine is the provision of an integrated back support (64), which may comprise a portion of the belt, or a part connected to the belt portion. The back support has a transverse rigidity greater than the remaining part of the belt portion (20). Another unique feature of the machine is the provision of floating elements (78a, 78b, . . . 78n) which imparts to the user buoyancy for exercising in the water.

  • Patent number: 5018723
Abstract: An underwater closed-loop track consists of at least two tracks (12 and 14) which are formed of floating pads (16 and 18) connected in series and containing weights (22) for maintaining the pads at a predetermined depth from the surface of water. The underwater track is supported by flexible links, e.g., by ropes, connected to stationary supports (S1 and S2). The external track (12) has a depth suitable for walking and running in water on the bottom formed by the pads, while the external track (14) has a depth for running in water without touching the bottom. Another embodiment of the invention relates to a stationary swimming pool of a closed-loop configuration (40) or a zig-zag configuration (66) having at least two tracks, one of which is suitable for running and walking in water with touching the bottom, and another for running in water without touching the bottom.
