Abstract: Provided are methods of diagnosing a medical condition associated with hypersensitivity to a female reproductive hormone in a subject, with the proviso that the medical condition is not estrogen dermatitis. The method is effected by administering into a skin of the subject at least one female reproductive hormone such as estriol or estrone, and monitoring a reaction to the female reproductive hormone on the skin, wherein a presence of the reaction above a predetermined threshold is indicative of the presence of the medical condition in the subject. Also provided are methods and computing platforms for treating the medical conditions associated with the hypersensitivity to the female reproductive hormone by desensitization.

Abstract: Described is a leak-proof fuel cell which comprises at least one liquid within a casing that comprises at least one opening which is sealed by a first structure that is gas-pervious and substantially impervious to the at least one liquid. At least that portion of the casing which comprises the at least one opening is enclosed by a second structure which allows gas to pass therethrough. A space defined by the casing and the second structure comprising therein at least one material that is capable of binding the at least one liquid. Abstract: Apparatus for monitoring a plurality of tissue viability parameters of a substantially identical tissue element, in which a single illumination laser source provides illumination radiation at a wavelength such as to enable monitoring of blood flow rate and NADH or flavoprotein concentration, together with blood volume and also blood oxygenation state. In preferred embodiments, an external cavity laser diode system is used to ensure that the laser operates in single mode or at else in two or three non-competing modes, each mode comprising a relatively narrow bandwidth. A laser stabilisation control system is provided to ensure long term operation of the laser source at the desired conditions.
