    Abstract: A storage unit stores therein first information indicating the correspondence among each acquisition time point at which a result of measuring cumulative energy consumed during the execution of a program was acquired, the cumulative energy, and the memory address of an instruction executed at the acquisition time point. The storage unit stores therein second information indicating the correspondence between each executed part of the program and a range of the memory addresses of instructions of the program. A computation unit determines time points in the execution of a predetermined executed part, on the basis of the first and second information, and calculates cumulative energy for each of the time points with linear interpolation.

On the other hand, when the second sequence information corresponds to the first sequence information, the operational circuit carries out an operation using the first start time and the second start time and outputs the operation result.

After its own calculation result is calculated with the calculating processes, calculating processes are repeatedly executed without waiting for a determination as to whether the calculation result is significant. After the calculating processes are started and when an indication that the significance can be determined is transmitted because of reception of calculation results from other computer apparatuses via transmission units, or, when a request as to whether the significance can be determined is sent and an indication that the significance can be determined is obtained as a result of the request, the significance of its own calculation result is determined. The data to be retrieved is distributed or substantially equally to the retrieving servers, while the retrieval requests from clients are successively broadcasted to the retrieving servers without waiting for the retrieval results from the retrieving servers. This invention can be effectively applied for fetching necessary information from a database retaining various kinds of information.
