  • Patent number: 5484560
Abstract: A method which includes enhancing effects upon treating the surface of a thermoplastic resin article by a surface-activating treatment such as corona discharge and the like or by a primer treatment and, thereby, improving coating performance, printability, adhesiveness and so forth of the thermoplastic resin article. The resin article is subjected to a surface-heating treatment which comprises heating only surface layer of the resin article up to a melting point of the thermoplastic resin or a higher temperature followed by cooling the surface layer, and then, subjected to the surface-activating treatment or primer coating.

  • Patent number: 5371649
Abstract: In a method of corona discharge processing of resin formings surface, excellent corona discharge processing is possible, even if there is a distance between the resin formings and the discharge electrode, by generating a high voltage pulse having a pulse width of 1 .mu.s or more, an average electric field strength of 4 to 20 kv/cm denoted by applied voltage (wave height) versus interelectrode distance, and a pulse frequency of 10 pps or more. This processing is performed by the apparatus which comprises arranging a transfer conveyor to transfer the resin formings, a counter-electrode placed in a down side of the transfer conveyor, a dielectric to cover a surface of the counter-electrode, and a number of discharge electrodes which are arranged in a definite distance above the resin formings along the transfer route.

  • Patent number: 5298141
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring concentration of non-volatile ingredients in a liquid-type material comprises a debubbling device for removing air bubbles contained in the liquid-type material, and a calculator which obtains a non-volatile ingredient concentration measurement of the liquid-type material from which air bubbles have been removed by the debubbling device.

  • Patent number: 5226317
Abstract: To obtain an accurate concentration of nonvolatile contents promptly and easily, an electrodeposition paint of which pH, temperature, and organic solvent concentration are in specified ranges is irradiated with ultrasonic waves, and its damping factor is measured, and on a basis of the result from the measurement, the concentration of nonvolatile contents in the electrodeposition paint is determined.

  • Patent number: 4368446
Abstract: An AC or DC solenoid for operating a hydraulic or air valve, or another machine comprises a means provided at one end of an armature for reducing the effective cross-sectional area of a magnetic path extending through the armature and a yoke when the armature and a stationary core have a distance therebetween which is smaller than a predetermined fraction of the full stroke of movement of the armature. The solenoid is further provided between the armature and the stationary core with a means permitting them to be brought into axially overlapping relation to form a section of leakage flux therebetween. According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided novel means for securing a solenoid of the armature in tube type to a valve body. The improved solenoid has a small size, a long life, and superior performance without causing any excessive attraction over a given small stroke and generating any large noise.

  • Patent number: 4290039
Abstract: An AC solenoid apparatus of the armature-in-tube type for operating valves such as hydraulic/air valves, or other machines. The apparatus comprises a solenoid having a sealingly closed part including a pressure proof tube preferably made from a thin nonmagnetic material, and an exciting assembly having a coil encompassing the closed part and a yoke having a generally rectangular cross section. A slotted annular magnetic ring made from a magnetic material is inserted between the pressure proof tube and at least one part of the yoke. The solenoid of this invention is small in size and of low cost, and yet is endowed with a high force and a capability of restraining heat by being generated from the solenoid.
