Abstract: A touch-based mobile device and a method for performing a touch lock function of the mobile device are provided. In the method, the device displays a touch lock screen in which a cover layer is superimposed over a specific underlying screen and allows the underlying screen to be visible. When an input of a touch moving gesture is detected, the device moves the cover layer depending on the touch moving gesture, and determines whether a distance of the touch moving gesture reaches a predefined critical distance. If so, the device removes the cover layer from the touch lock screen and switches the touch lock state to a touch unlock state, thus allowing a user to more conveniently switch the touch lock state to the touch unlock state.

Abstract: A mobile communication terminal includes a display unit for displaying an image for screen setting; a screen setting information storage unit storing screen setting information; a key input unit receiving a type of screen for the screen setting and selection information of user for an image edit command; a controller displaying a preview domain identical with the selected screen in type and size based on the selection information of the user for the type of the screen, and controlling an image edit in the preview domain based on the selection information of the user for the image edit command; and an image processor changing indication information of the display unit by control of the controller.

Abstract: Provided is a method and an apparatus of searching a hierarchically structured file in an information terminal. The method includes dividing a screen of the information terminal into at least two regions including a first region and a second region; displaying information about the location of a current file and at least one function icon in the first region of the screen, and files included in a current folder in the second region of the screen; and determining whether a key is pressed, and if so, performing a function corresponding to the key input. Therefore, a user can move to a desired location in the hierarchical file more rapidly and exactly, and thus a small-screen can be used more efficiently.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for saving a speed dial number in mobile communication terminal are provided. The method includes: when a key for designating a speed dial number to a specific phone number is inputted to a phone directory edit window, displaying a speed dial designation pop-up window having a plurality of numbers arranged in an M×N matrix; when one of the numbers is selected, differently displaying the selected number and the other numbers; and when a setup key is inputted, designating the selected number as the speed dial number corresponding to the specific phone number.
