  • Patent number: 6747620
Abstract: An apparatus and method of self-diagnosing a video signal in an LCD panel is disclosed. The apparatus includes a micro-controller, a switching unit and a diagnosis transmitter. The micro-controller generates and outputs a switching control signal representing an operation mode, which includes a self-diagnosis mode and a normal operation mode. The switching unit selects an input signal of a receiver according to the switching control signal from the micro-controller. When the switching control signal represents the self-diagnosis mode, the diagnosis transmitter receives a test video signal having a predetermined display pattern from the micro-controller, and the test video signal is then fed back to the micro-controller. The micro-controller detects whether the test video signal is in trouble by comparing the test video signal from the micro-controller with the video signal fed back to the micro-controller.

  • Patent number: 6661412
Abstract: A device for testing a digital monitor which enables to test for each kind of operation in a digital monitor is disclosed. It includes a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) for outputting a timing control signal, an oscillation section for generating a reference clock pulse for the FPGA, and an input selection section for selecting a resolution or a color pattern of an input image of a monitor. It can also include a microcomputer to control the FPGA, so as to output a timing control signal according to the resolution selected in the input selection section, and output color control data for controlling the input image of the monitor to correspond to the color pattern selected in the input selection section. Next, it includes a transmitter for transmitting digital R/G/B image signals and clock pulses to the monitor according to the timing control signal outputted from the FPGA and the color control data outputted from the microcomputer.

  • Patent number: 6268844
Abstract: A backlight consumption time display method and apparatus for an LCD monitor is disclosed. A the backlight consumption time stored in a memory storage unit with a preset backlight maximum consumption time is periodically compared. A backlight replacement instruction message is displayed on the screen when a hitherto backlight consumption time exceeds the maximum consumption time and, after the backlight replacement, the backlight consumption time stored in the memory storage unit is reset using a reset key in the key input unit. A timer is operated when a backlight driving control signal is turned on, a backlight consumption time preset in a memory storage unit is counted and the counted value is stored in a memory storage unit.
