  • Publication number: 20160006359
Abstract: The invention relates to a DC to DC converter which comprises: (a) regulation stage for receiving a non-regulated DC voltage and for producing a regulated DC voltage; (b) a switching stage for converting said regulated DC voltage to a substantially AC Voltage signal; (e) an isolation stage for receiving said AC Voltage signal, and for producing a regulated output DC voltage having a voltage level which differs from a voltage level of said regulated DC voltage, and for isolating said regulated output DC voltage from said regulation stage; and (d) a control component for providing a feedback from said isolation to said regulation stage; wherein said DC to DC converter comprises at the regulation stage a protection unit which in turn comprises a capacitor in series with a parallel circuit which in turn comprises: a switching element in parallel with a resistor, inductor, or a controlled current limiting element.

  • Publication number: 20110089931
Abstract: A current sensor includes a shunt and at least one resistant element. The shunt conveys an electric current, and has a resistance which varies with the shunt's temperature. A resistant element, which has a resistance that varies with its own temperature, is electrically connected between the shunt and an output terminal of the current sensor. At least a portion of the resistant element is in thermal contact with a predetermined location on the shunt, so that the resistant element's resistance varies in accordance with the shunt temperature. The current sensor may be connected to an amplifier whose gain varies in accordance with the resistance of the resistant element. The variation in the resistance of the resistant element causes a change in the amplifier gain, which compensates for changes in the shunt resistance due to change's in the shunt's temperature. In some embodiments, a second resistant element is connected between the shunt and a second output terminal.

  • Patent number: 7439839
Abstract: An electrical coil includes first and second electrically-conductive elements each of a thin, flat, annular configuration formed with a gap to define the turns of a 2-turn coil, and an electrically insulative element also of a thin, flat, annular configuration disposed coaxially between the two electrically-conductive elements and formed with a gap aligned with one end of each turn to permit the ends to be electrically connected together. Also described is a transformer having a secondary winding including a plurality of such 2-turn coils, and a primary winding of a plurality of double-coils each connected together at their mid-portions.

  • Publication number: 20070176725
Abstract: A high-current electrical coil includes a plurality of flat, electrically-conductive strips bent to define together a coil in which the electrically-conductive strips are disposed coaxially and extend longitudinally with respect to the longitudinal axis of the coil. Each of the electrically-conductive strips is bent to define at least a part of a turn of the coil. One electrically-conductive strip has an outer end carrying a first connector terminal for the coil and projecting outwardly of the coil; and another electrically-conductive strip has an outer end carrying a second connector terminal for the coil and projecting outwardly of the coil. Each of the electrically-conductive strips includes inner ends in electrical continuity with each other, and intermediate portions electrically-insulated from each other such that the plurality of electrically-conductive strips together define a coil exceeding one turn between the first and second connector terminals.
