  • Patent number: 10930302
Abstract: Text can be presented with speech indicators generated by a cognitive system by processing the text. The speech indicators can indicate recommended speech characteristics to be exhibited by a user while the user generates spoken utterances representing the text. Data indicating at least one user input changing at least one of the speech indicators from a first state as originally presented to a second state can be received. In response, a value indicating a level of change made to the at least one of the speech indicators can be determined. At least one parameter used by the cognitive system to select the speech indicators can be modified or created based on the value indicating the level of change made to the at least one of the speech indicators.

  • Patent number: 10785603
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided to implement a location identification mechanism to identify a location or route for a user. A starting location of the user is identified in response to receiving a set of details from the user including at least a target location. A three-dimensional model of an area around the starting location, an area around the target location, and an area between the starting location and the target location is generated and current local weather and forecasted local weather associated with the starting location, the target location, and the area between the starting location and the target location is identified. Anticipated wind flow and temperatures within the generated three-dimensional model are simulated to identify a route from the starting location to the target location that meets a set of personal preferences of the user. The identified route is then presented on a user-selected navigation application.

  • Publication number: 20200084858
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for automatically providing a user-sensitive amount of light for a specific task. Responsive to detecting an object being lit by a task-lighting device, a set of lighting conditions associated with lighting the object are identified. A first set of parameters is utilized to adjust an amount of light being emitted by a light emitting device of the task-lighting device lighting the object. Responsive to a user manually adjusting the amount of light thereby forming a current amount of light being emitted by the light emitting device, current lighting condition parameters and the current amount of light being emitted by the tight emitting device are identified. The current lighting condition parameters and the current amount of light are then stored as a second set of parameters. The second set of parameters are then utilized for adjusting the amount of light being emitted when changes to the object occurs.

  • Patent number: 7721189
Abstract: A worksheet overview system comprises an item information handler, an overview element handler, an overview area handler, and an overview synchronizer. The item information handler obtains item information relating to items of a worksheet. The overview element handler manages overview elements based on the item information. Each overview element represents item information of a corresponding item of the worksheet. The overview area handler provides an overview area for containing the overview elements to make the overview elements contained in the overview area accessible by a user. The overview synchronizer synchronizes between each overview element in the overview area and its corresponding item of the worksheet.

  • Patent number: 7712032
Abstract: A range manager system has a range definition controller, a range label handler, and a range definition indicator controller. The range definition controller controls setting of one or more boundary values defining one or more ranges. The range label handler handles labels of the ranges. The range definition indicator controller controls presentation of a range definition indicator representing definition of the ranges. The range definition indicator controller presents the ranges in vertical arrangement so as to provide an intuitive representation of the definition of the ranges.
