  • Patent number: 5621585
Abstract: A reel brake device in a recording and reproducing apparatus is operated by a tape loading mechanism. A cam portion is formed on any one side of at least one of a pair of loading gears employed for driving a pair of tape guide units which draw a tape from the cassette. The reel brake for braking the reels includes a friction member for braking the supply reel table and an operating portion which comes into contact with a cam surface and a cam protrusion surface of the cam portion selectively so that it may be driven. Under a tape unloading condition, the reel brake performs braking or releasing operation of the reels as the loading gear rotates in a predetermined direction. Driving of the reel brake by the existing loading gear without using any separate driving element, makes it possible to maintain the brake stroke, enhance the accuracy in operation, and reduce the number of elements constituting the supply reel brake device.

  • Patent number: 5507404
Abstract: A color electroluminescence(EL) display element and the manufacturing method thereof which can improve an RC-time delay phenomenon and the contrast of the EL display element. According to the EL display element, an auxiliary metal electrode is formed on a transparent electrode. The auxiliary metal electrode is formed by forming on the transparent electrode a metal film having a high melting point and a low resistivity, such as molybdenenum, with a thickness of about 1000 .ANG., and then by selectively etching the metal film so that it remains on the boundary between each of R, G, and B color filters with a width of about 5 to 30 .mu.m. The color filters are formed on a circular polarizing plate and sealed up with the auxiliary metal electrode, and thus the circular polarizing plate absorbs an external light incident to and reflected from a metal electrode.

  • Patent number: 5346302
Abstract: An apparatus for mixing a deionized water and a hydrofluoric acid precisely in the ratio of 100:1, so as to produce a mixture which are properly used in etching wafters. The mixing apparatus comprises a self-lubricating plastic container of a double construction which enables to obtain a more precise quantity of liquid. The mixing apparatus also comprises an electronic balance measuring the weight of the liquid mixture, an indicator indicating numerically the weight measured by the balance, a mixing tank mixing the liquids, and control valves supplying the liquids in large and small quantities, respectively. According to this arrangement, it is possible to obtain a mixture of a large quantity liquid or a small quantity liquid in a precise mixing ratio with a tolerance of within 1%. Thereby, any poor etching of wafers can be avoided.
