  • Patent number: 11862966
Abstract: According to an embodiment, a surge protector includes a capacitor, a switch, and a first transistor. The capacitor charges based on an input power to the surge protector. The switch turns on when the capacitor is charged to a charge threshold. The surge protector outputs the input power when the switch is turned on. The first transistor turns on when a voltage of the input power exceeds a first input voltage threshold such that the capacitor discharges to below the charge threshold and such that the switch turns off. The surge protector stops outputting the input power when the switch is turned off.

  • Patent number: 11522442
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe control circuitry for operating a PFC converter in an AC-DC power supply under light loading conditions. The embodiments herein improve the power factor by identifying an optimized phase offset (?) between an AC reference voltage and an AC reference current used to control the PFC converter. In one embodiment, the control circuitry iteratively changes the phase offset between the reference voltage and current and measures its impact on the power factor. The control circuitry then selects the phase offset that results in the best power factor to use when operating the PFC converter under light loading conditions.

  • Patent number: 10257262
Abstract: A method and system for performing data processing. A request for agent software is acquired by an agent computer system from a user computer system and in response, the agent computer system retrieves the agent software from a repository of agents and migrates the retrieved agent software to the user computer system. The agent computer system acquires an itinerary and N sets of run time instructions from the user computer system. N is at least 2. The itinerary specifies a path along which the agent software is to migrate to perform a portion of the data processing on N computer systems using the N sets of run time instructions. The agent computer system provides the received itinerary and the N sets of run time instructions to the agent software at the user computer system.

  • Patent number: 8060464
Abstract: A distributed computing system provides a data management system in communication with a software management system and enables the software applications to move to the data to be processed in a distributed computing environment. The software management system stores a plurality of computer-executable software applications thereon and is in communication with a user system for receiving a selection of one of the plurality of software applications. The software management system generates an identifier for the selected software application which is provided to the data management system, which then obtains the selected software application from the software management system based on the identifier. The obtained software application is then executed with data from a data storage system using resources from a resource system. The resource system includes a plurality of resources and a manage mechanism for managing assignment of the plurality of resources to support execution of the software application.

  • Patent number: 7010823
Abstract: An inflatable liner for a boot, such as a snowboard boot. An oily chalk like substance consisting of 90% sweet starch, 9% lubricant, and 1% stearate is included between two sheets of plastic that make up bladder of the liner. The bladder is attached to the EVA of the liner before the EVA is folded, stitched, heated and molded. This allows the bladder to be attached while the EVA is still flat and allows attachment to be performed by machine stitching. The bladder is partially inflated before the EVA is heated and molded. The oily chalk like substance and the partial inflation of the bladder allows the installed bladder to pass through the heating and molding steps of the EVA without the two sheets that make up the bladder melting together. The design and installation of the bladder minimizes the amount of slipping of a wearer's foot and heel within the boot.
