  • Publication number: 20240105984
Abstract: A lithium-ion battery and methods thereof are disclosed. In an aspect, the lithium-ion battery includes an anode component, a cathode component, a separator, and an electrolyte. The anode component includes an anode current collector and a respective anode coating on each side of the anode current collector. An anode coating includes composite particles including carbon and silicon. A mass fraction of the silicon in the composite particles of the anode coatings may be in a range of about 5 wt. % to about 70 wt. % of the anode coatings. The anode component undergoes a maximum areal expansion (Amax) during the multiple charging and discharging cycles. The anode current collector comprises a copper foil, the copper foil being characterized, before the respective anode coatings are formed thereon, by an ultimate tensile stress (UTS) and a strain at the UTS (?UTS).

  • Patent number: 11629096
Abstract: Described herein are articles and methods of making articles, for example glass articles, comprising a thin sheet and a carrier, wherein the thin sheet and carrier are bonded together using a modification (coating) layer, for example a coating layer comprising a cationic surfactant or a coating layer comprising an organic salt, and associated deposition methods. The modification layer bonds the thin sheet and carrier together with sufficient bond strength to prevent delamination of the thin sheet and the carrier during high temperature (? 500° C.) processing while also preventing formation of a permanent bond between the sheets during such processing.

  • Publication number: 20220140227
Abstract: An article including a support unit, the support unit including a support substrate and a bonding layer such that the bonding layer is bonded to a surface of the support substrate. Furthermore, a total thickness variation TTV across a width of the support unit is about 2.0 microns or less.

  • Publication number: 20210261836
Abstract: Articles and methods of making articles, for example glass articles, comprising a thin sheet and a carrier, wherein the thin sheet and carrier are bonded together using a multilayered modification (coating) layer, for example an alternating cationic/anionic polymer coating layer, and associated deposition methods, the carrier, or both, to control van der Waals, hydrogen and covalent bonding between the thin sheet and the carrier. The modification layer bonds the thin sheet and carrier together with sufficient bond strength to prevent delamination of the thin sheet and the carrier during high temperature (?400° C.) processing while also preventing formation of a permanent bond between the sheets during such processing.

  • Patent number: 10053798
Abstract: Methods and systems for manufacturing a tablet are generally provided. Certain embodiments comprise electrodepositing (e.g., electrospinning) a material (e.g., the tablet material, for example, within a fluid) onto a substrate. The substrate can be, for example, an elongated rod. In some such embodiments, after material has been electrodeposited onto the substrate, a die comprising a cavity and the substrate can be moved relative to each other such that the electrodeposited material is at least partially stripped from the substrate and/or at least partially deposited into the cavity of the die. Some embodiments comprise compressing the material in the cavity to form a tablet.
