Abstract: In one embodiment, one or more non-transitory, computer-readable mediums store computer instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to receive a selection of at least one spend category out of a number of spend categories to track and a target spend amount for a timeframe, track one or more transactions associated with the selected at least one spend category by filtering the one or more transactions into respective bins based on merchant category codes assigned to the one or more transactions during the timeframe, and perform one or more actions based on an actual amount spent relative to the target spend amount for the timeframe.

Abstract: Saving funds allows users to be prepared for emergencies and unexpected costs. In some embodiments, a text savings plan saves money by automatically identifying and transferring small amounts of money from a user's first account (e.g., checking account) to the user's second account (e.g., savings account, payee account). The text savings plan determines and transfers amounts based at least in part on the balance of the user's first account.
