  • Patent number: 10422323
Abstract: A method of replacing an anchor bolt used to support a wind turbine to a foundation. The method includes providing the wind turbine and the foundation supporting the wind turbine. The foundation includes a lower base flange, at least one anchor bolt extending between the lower base flange and a lower tower flange of the wind turbine, and a rigid body at least partially formed around the at least one anchor bolt. The method further includes drilling a core in the lower tower flange and the rigid body circumferentially around the anchor bolt and removing the anchor bolt and the core to create a cavity. The method further includes inserting a replacement anchor bolt into the cavity and coupling the replacement anchor bolt to the lower base flange. The replacement anchor bolt may then be tensioned.

  • Patent number: 9103323
Abstract: A system for scheduling maintenance of a component in a wind turbine. The system receives signals from each of the wind turbines in a population of wind turbines. From the signals, the system detects a failure of the component in one of the wind turbine. In response to the detect failure, the system calculates a new life value for the component. The life value is then compared to a threshold value. If the life value is within a specified parameter compared to the threshold value, the system schedules a change of the component in all of the wind turbines in the population.

  • Patent number: 8951011
Abstract: According to the inventive concept, there is provided a wind turbine with at least one blade. The wind turbine comprises a first accelerometer mounted at a first radial position of the blade and being adapted to determine a first acceleration value, and a second accelerometer mounted at a second radial position of the blade different from the first radial position, and the accelerometer being adapted to determine a second acceleration value. The wind turbine further comprises a controller adapted to generate a signal based on said first and second acceleration values. There is also provided a method for monitoring a blade of a wind turbine.

  • Patent number: 8108155
Abstract: A system for monitoring the quality of maintenance performed on a wind turbine. A restoration factor is used to determine the quality of maintenance performed of the wind turbine. A restoration factor determined after a scheduled maintenance is compared to historical and comparative references to determine the quality of the maintenance performed on the wind turbine. Based upon these comparisons, maintenance of the wind turbine may be modified to increase the capacity of the wind turbine.
