  • Patent number: 5482225
Abstract: An unwinding station in which a coil of band-like material is unwound with a vertical axis, i.e. lying in a horizontal plane, is provided for loading a processing machine with the band-like material from the coil. Consequently, the band taken off from it is in a vertical plane and, for insertion into a processing machine, must be turned in a turning zone. A centering device is provided for centering the band with respect to the central axis of the processing machine, in order to avoid internal stresses in the band before the band is turned.

  • Patent number: 5468931
Abstract: The supporting block for the focusing device of a laser welding apparatus is mounted onto the working surface of the body of the lower tool. The cutting edge of the die set into the body of the lower tool is aligned with the working surface. For a resharpening of the cutting edge the working surface is reground and accordingly also the area, on which the supporting block rests. Conclusively, no readjusting of the focusing device relative to the welding point at the die is necessary.

  • Patent number: 5456098
Abstract: For loading a processing machine with band-like material from a coil, a rotatable support, on which the coil rests with its axis substantially vertical, is driven by a motor. Since the circumference of the coil decreases during unwinding, a sensor is provided for controlling the motor to maintain a desired constant band speed.

  • Patent number: 4863112
Abstract: Coils (C) containing band-like blank material are stored in a magazine station (M) in a horizontal position, i.e. with the axis vertical. They rest on a level underlay, together with which they can be gripped, still in the horizontal position, and fed to an unwinding station (H), where, together with the underlay, they can be placed horizontally and unwound, in order to feed the band-like blank material to a processing station (B).
