Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate generally to methods and systems for treating aqueous systems associated with industrial wastewater applications and gas and crude oil drilling, pumping and production to reduce or eliminate contamination. In one embodiment, a method includes: an aqueous volume having an initial oxidant demand, an oxygen-containing oxidant and at least one chlorine oxide at substoichiometric amounts in an amount sufficient to eliminate the oxidant demand. The system includes: an aqueous treatment system comprising a containment system; at least one apparatus for introducing an oxygen-containing oxidant; and at least one apparatus for introducing at least one chlorine oxide into said containment system at controlled, substoichiometric quantities.

Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, a method of converting an oxy halide salt into a halide dioxide in a reaction zone under certain conditions is provided. More specifically, the method includes generating chlorine dioxide from a stable composition comprising an oxy halide salt by introducing said composition to a reducing agent and minimum temperature within the reaction zone. According to another aspect of the invention, a composition for a stable chlorine dioxide precursor comprising an oxy halide salt is provided.

Abstract: The present application discloses an oral appliance, a device for making an oral appliance, a method of making an oral appliance, and a method of using an oral appliance. In certain embodiments, the oral appliance comprises first, second, and third moldable parts. Each of the first and second moldable parts is configured to form an impression of one or more of a user's upper teeth and the third moldable part is configured to form an impression of one or more of the user's lower teeth. The first and second moldable parts are coupled to the third moldable part to form the oral appliance and are adjustable relative to the third moldable part. The moldable parts facilitate positioning the user's jaw such that there is vertical separation between the maxilla and the mandible when the oral appliance is installed in the user's mouth.

Abstract: The present application discloses a helmet and an impact liner system and energy management structures for a helmet. In one exemplary embodiment, the impact liner system comprises a plurality of compressible energy management structures and one or more carriers for supporting the plurality of energy management structures within a helmet shell. The energy management structures are positioned between an interior surface of the helmet shell and the head of a user when the impact liner system is attached to the helmet shell. Each energy management structure comprises an outer wall configured to bend when an exterior of the helmet shell is impacted by an object. The carrier comprises a plurality of openings configured to receive the energy management structures. The outer wall of the energy management structures extend between the interior of the helmet shell and the carrier of the impact liner system.

Abstract: The formulation of the current invention provides better deicing and anti-icing performance than commercial acetate-based deicing solutions. The performance is consistently better in all testing categories including melting, penetration, undercutting, and friction. The corrosiveness is similar to commercial deicers, which may include corrosion inhibitors. Chemical analysis reveals that a potassium acetate solution provided by the invention contains formate and lactate in the prepared deicer.
