  • Patent number: 5339071
Abstract: An electrical shock sensor having a housing containing an electrically conductive plug member having a conical configuration. An electrically conductive collar member is coaxially positioned over the conical configuration. An electrically conductive spring is connected between the annular collar and a stationary part within the housing. A first electrical connection is made to the plug member and a second electrical connection is made to reach the conductive spring. The shock sensor is included within a burglar alarm including an energy source and an alarm means. Natural vibrations will cause the spring to oscillate or vibrate without moving the collar. However, impact onto the shock sensor will cause the spring to sufficiently jar thereby displacing the annular collar from its position with respect to the conical surface.

  • Patent number: 4995830
Abstract: A quick connect electrical wire connector having a housing assembly with a base portion and a closure portion. The housing assembly receives an insulated electrical wire which is not stripped. The base portion is connected to another electrical member. A slicing mechanism is defined between the base portion and the closure portion for transversely slicing through the insulation so as to make electrical contact with the wire core therebeneath. Appropriate connection is provided for electrically connecting the slicing mechanism with the other electrical member. In this manner, closure of the closure portion onto the base portion permits electrical connection between the insulated electrical wire and the other electrical member. The device is provided with an adjustable mechanism so as to be able to accommodate wires of different gauge size with suitable adjustment being made to the device in order to accommodate such different gauge size wires.

  • Patent number: 4935585
Abstract: Electrical cord extension and retraction is achieved with a reel having a spool core around which the cord is wound. The spool core has two metal ends, to each of which is connected a wire of the electrical cord. Each metal end makes circular sliding electrical contact with a track mounted on the inside of a side housing member. Winding torque is supplied by an elastic member with parallel separated filaments that is fastened between the side members and held by opposing diametrical fingers positioned on the inside of the spool core.

  • Patent number: 4823089
Abstract: A burglar alarm fault detector for aiding in the detection of faults including intermittent faults within a burglar alarm circuit. The circuit includes low and high end adjustments for setting the values of the measured resistance above and below the actual resistance of the burglar alarm circuit. At each of these set values an alarm will sound. The alarm sounded from the high adjustment can be distinguished from that of the low adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4806711
Abstract: A switch with a body structure for mounting on the face of a support with actuation perpendicular to the support. Electrical wires are inserted through the sides of the body into guides that splice the wires, retain them and guide them while being moved by the actuator into the spliced position. The wires are then retained during operation of the actuator which bridges the wires to connect them.
