  • Patent number: 4624457
Abstract: A guided weight exercise device has a lower anchor arrangement for readily attaching the lower portion of the device to a supporting wall by pivotal movement of the device about a floor-engaging support upwardly from a slanted position with the lower portion of the unit adjacent the wall. Reverse pivotal movement of the device detaches it from the wall. The floor-engaging support may be a wheel assembly. The guide assembly for the weights comprises a pair of spaced parallel guide bars each having separate upper and lower bar sections, and a coupling which interconnects the guide bars and joins their upper and lower sections. The weight is lifted by a guided carriage and an arrangement of upper and lower sheaves and a cable. The sheaves and cable are located adjacent the wall and completely behind the carriage and the guide bars.

  • Patent number: 4302005
Abstract: An exercising device for developing primarily the muscles of the neck. The device comprises a pivoted weight support having a cushioned lower surface which is raised and lowered by motions of the user's head. The device may be supported in mounting brackets affixed to the legs of an exercising bench. The exercising device has a generally J-shaped frame having a generally upstanding lower portion and a generally arched upper portion which has a free end. A stop device is carried by the frame at the free end of the upper portion for engaging and supporting a laterally extending portion of the weight support when the latter is in its lowest rest position.

  • Patent number: 4199912
Abstract: A system for filling generally cylindrical barbell weight shells with a relatively viscous slurry of cementitious material comprises a roller conveyor which transports a plurality of carriers each supporting a plurality of barbell weight shells thereon through a plurality of stations. At a lubricating station, the exterior of the shells is coated with a light film of oil to facilitate subsequent cleaning thereof. At a filling station, a dispensing hopper having a plurality of downwardly projecting nozzles dispenses the cementitious slurry into the shells. Each of the carriers is positioned beneath the hopper, the shells thereon are aligned with the nozzles, and a lift table lifts the shells off of the roller conveyor into engagement with the nozzles. Vibrator and agitator devices induce the flow of the slurry from the hopper into the shells under the influence of gravity.

  • Patent number: 3957268
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for attaching the top of a table tennis table to a tubular apron which supports the table top. The table top has planar upper, lower end and side surfaces. The tubular apron has a substantially planar upper wall for supportingly engaging the lower surface of the table top. The table top and tubular apron are attached to each other by a clip which is formed of steel having a thickness of approximately 0.050 inch. The clip comprises a right angled J-shaped portion, and a pronged leg extending from one end of the J-shaped portion at an acute angle of approximately 45.degree.. One end of the J-shaped portion frictionally engages the upper surface of the table top while the pronged leg bitingly engages an inner wall surface of the tubular apron to retain the clip in position, thus fixedly attaching the top to the apron.
