The compositions comprise a gel formed from a cellulosic polymer and a polar oil, a non-polar film-forming agent, polyhydroxystearic acid, and optionally one or more pigments. The compositions may have one or more properties selected from long-wear, oil transfer resistance, water transfer resistance, comfort, and durable shine.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a clear or translucent composition which takes the form of a solid, a semi-solid or a viscous gel. The inventive composition contains a mixture of at least two amino acid-based gelatinizing agents, at least one polyamide resin, a non ionic, unsaturated fatty alcohol in an amount which reduces the dissolution temperature of the gelatinizing agents to allow processing at or below 115° C., an alkyl dimethicone, and an oil and/or a polymer component. Additional ingredients depending on the application may also be included in the clear or translucent composition. The present disclosure also relates to methods of producing the clear or translucent composition of the disclosure and uses thereof.

Mascara compositions of the invention reduce eyelash damage and though having low viscosity (as compared to typical prior art compositions) surprisingly provide excellent buildup, lengthening and wear.

The cosmetic gel dries to a dry, smooth film upon topical application. There is also a method for imparting color to the skin, hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes.
