    Abstract: Hemorrhoids are removed by obliterative suturing, the patent being ambulatory and needing no anaesthetic or hospitalization. A specialized speculum for the procedure involves a probe having a flanged-cylinder anus-distending and shielding portion that is extended as a partial cylinder having a lengthwise gap between parallel edges that ideally support a hemorrhold for viewing and suturing.
