  • Patent number: 10901679
Abstract: Examples of mirroring a screen between two devices include establishing a communication link by a sink device with a source device to mirror a screen of the source device on the sink device. Upon determining a same orientation of the source device for a specific time period, a display OFF command is sent to the source device. The display OFF command is indicative of turning OFF a backlight of the screen of the source device. Further, an event notification may be received by the sink device upon occurrence of an event at the source device. The event includes an incoming communication or a change in the orientation of the source device. In addition, in response to the event notification, a switch command is sent to the source device to pause the signal stream and to turn ON the backlight of the screen of the source device.

  • Patent number: 10896047
Abstract: A system includes an input device and a processor. The processor, in a pre-boot phase, determines whether the input device indicates that the system is to be booted using a wireless network connection; and based at least in a part on the determination, retrieves an identifier for the wireless network connection. The processor uses the identifier to boot the system.

  • Patent number: 10873212
Abstract: In example implementations, a wireless charging request at a first class type is sent by a power receiving unit (PRU) to a power transmitting unite (PTU) for an amount of power from the PTU. A charging fail notification is received from the PTU due to a mismatch in an amount of power available from the PTU and the amount of power requested in the wireless charging request. A wireless charging request is sent to the PTU at a lower class type than the first class type that matches the amount of power available from the PTU. The PRU is charged with the amount of power available from the PTU. The wireless charging request is re-sent at the first class type to the PTU after a pre-defined period of time to charge at the amount of power requested by the wireless charging request at the first class type.

  • Publication number: 20200329385
Abstract: Examples disclosed herein provide the ability to handle situations that may arise when error conditions exist for a networking device. In one example method at a client device, the client device scans for a first identifier associated with the networking device and, upon finding the first identifier, connects to the networking device. As an example, the client device disconnects from the networking device if an error condition exists for the networking device. As an example, if the error condition exists, the client device decreases a priority of the networking device relative to other networking devices for subsequent scans.

  • Patent number: 10746554
Abstract: In some examples, a device receives a dynamically selectable threshold, and responsive to the threshold being set to a first threshold value, causes transmission, to a computer over a communication interface, location data relating to a geographic location of the device at a first frequency of transmission, regardless of whether the device is stationary or in motion. Responsive to the threshold being set to a second threshold value different from the first threshold value, the device causes transmission, to the computer over the communication interface, the location data relating to the geographic location of the device in response to determining that the device has moved by a distance that exceeds the second threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20200044476
Abstract: Wireless charging of electronic devices is described. In an example implementation, electromagnetic current is induced in a first set of coils of an electronic device upon coupling of the first set of coils with a second set of coils of a charging base, and a rechargeable battery of the electronic device is wirelessly charged based on the induced electromagnetic current. A coil from amongst the first set is determined to send a message to the charging base to disable a coil of the second set which overlaps with the determined coil of the first set.
