  • Patent number: 4787122
Abstract: In an apparatus for producing sausages comprising a source of meat mass connected to a tubular injector of such a meat mass and which ends in a rotatable sausage forming sleeve member capable of rotating altogether with a tubular casing which is arranged about the tubular injector and passed through the sleeve member, and a pulling and constricting assembly which pulls out the tubular casing already filled with the meat mass from the sleeve member, the sleeve member including a longitudinal passage axially passing therethrough and which defines a converging inlet wherein a plurality of radially inwardly extending projections are arranged, said inlet leading to an inside surface wherein a plurality of rolling means are provided, both the projections and the rolling means are able to rotate and lead the tubular casing filled with meat mass through the sleeve member without excessive frictional engagement.

  • Patent number: 4730367
Abstract: In an apparatus and a method for producing sausages, an apparatus comprising a tubular member for feeding a flowable meat mass and a roll of a strip like film mounted thereon, bending means axially mounted around said tubular member for converting the strip-like film into a tubular film with the side edges of the film in overlapping relationship, welding means adjacent the outlet of the bending means for welding the overlapping side edges, said tubular member having an ejector end for supplying meat into the casing, while the tubular member, the film during shaping and the welding means simultaneously rotate, to thus rotatably feed the casing containing the meat-mass into rectilinearly moving clamping means to form a string of sausages.

  • Patent number: 4649962
Abstract: A bellows-like hollow member formed of gathered tubular sheathing material, for processing, especially as a peel-skin for the production of small sausages, produced as follows: polypropylene with copolymers is extruded in a smooth foil of three inseparable layers, of which the middle layer is stronger and the two outside layers have a lower melting point. The foil is then stretched to increase its strength, and is formed into a tube with a lengthwise seam along its entire length, formed by overlapping and consolidation of its lengthwise edges. Finally, the tube is gathered bellows-like forming a plurality of folds and forming hollow member, and is simultaneously rotated around its axis so that the lengthwise seam produces a helical path. The tubular sheathing which is obtained by this gathering is of inexpensive material, can be easily peeled from the boiled meat emulsion, can be used without difficulty in sausage machines, and is not sensitive during storage to moisture and high temperatures.

  • Patent number: 4183964
Abstract: Sausages are made by stuffing a meat emulsion into a thermosealable tubular casing, effecting preliminary sealing of the casing into "sausage lengths", at least partially cooking the product and then effecting a final sealing at the site of the preliminary seals which seals are wider than the preliminary seals and thereby compress the meat into the unsealed portion of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4067175
Abstract: A device for sealing containers made of heat-sealable material particularly adapted to be applied to the closure of containers containing pasty substances including an elastic support for one of the two walls of the container which are to be heat-sealed to one another and an assembly which is movable towards the mean plane of the container. The assembly includes a head on which the slidably mounted two rigid plane members in convergent positions so as to have sharp edges in substantial engagement. The head having mounted between both rigid plane members a heating mechanism which due to the movement of the head relative to the members the heating mechanism is placed against the other wall of the container in the position in which the members are pressing the walls against the elastic support. The present invention further includes a mechanism for causing the movement of the moveable assembly towards the elastic support and for causing the movement of the rigid plane members relative to the head.
