Abstract: The terminal embodying the invention comprises a touch-sensitive screen of reduced dimensions, having the resources required to display images representative of those of the viewing elements of the system, irrespective of their format, resolution or content, these images defining sensitive areas that the operator can designate to the system through manual action, a device enabling transmission to the system of information corresponding to the area designated by the operator, a device enabling validation of the area designated by the operator, and a device enabling selection of the above-mentioned images. The invention applies notably to aircraft cockpit equipment.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a valid selection of a capacitance tactile keyboard as a function of a selection state and validation state of the keyboard. The selection state is determined from measured capacitive values of each key by during a first phase of a cycle. The validation state is determined from measured pressure on the keyboard, for certain key selection states only, during a second phase of the cycle.
