  • Patent number: 5125417
Abstract: A process and device for generating conjugated micrometer to radio frequency range electromagnetic waves and for their amplification. The conjugated waves are generated by establishing in a plasma two waves of the desired frequency, essentially identical in wavelength at in opposite directions and by directing a third electromagnetic wave of essentially the same frequency so that this will enter the plasma at a predetermined wavelength, resulting in a fourth conjugated electromagnetic wave.A high magnification of the intensity of the conjugated wave can be attained. Such conjugated waves can be used in human medicine for concentrating waves at a tumor site. Devices of the invention can be used for the intensification of other waves, such as radar frequency waves.

  • Patent number: 4880496
Abstract: A method and device for creating patterns on a wide variety of substrates. The dimensions are variable in a wide range, from sub-microscopic and upwards. The device can also be used for microsurgery type manipulations in genetic engineering: a variety of substances can be introduced into biological cells. The production of patterns is based on the guidance of the radiation, electron beam etc. via a tube having a small-diameter tapered end which is metal-coated, and which can be brought to very close proximity of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4302676
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the separation of one isotope from a mixture of isotopes, which comprises selectively exciting the desired isotope to an energy level at a distance dE below the ionization continuum by means of laser irradiation, said level dE being at such a distance beneath the ionization continuum that the excited atoms at this level can be ionized by irradiation with an infrared laser, irradiating the excited atoms with an infrared laser so as to ionize them selectively, and separating the ionized atoms by deposition on a desired substrate. According to a modification of the process the desired isotope is excited in two or more steps of laser irradiation to an energy level above the ionization level, the excited atoms are permitted to decay by autoionization so as to form ions of the desired isotope, and these are collected.

  • Patent number: 4035638
Abstract: A process for the separation of one isotope from a mixture of isotopes and an apparatus for carrying out said process. The process comprises generating a beam of the atoms or molecules, introducing the beam into a laser cavity in such manner that the direction of the laser beam is substantially perpendicular to the direction of motion of the beam, irradiating the beam with a radiation adapted to being about the excitation only of the isotopic species to be separated, reflecting the laser beam back and forth between at least a pair of opposed sides of the laser cavity, such as between two mirrors opposite and parallel to each other which are located on these sides, for deflecting the desired isotopic species, and collecting said species.
