When the male connector (2) is connected to a female connector (21), the lock projections (4) are engaged in a lock groove (23) formed in an inner peripheral surface of a jack sleeve (22) of the female connector (21), thereby locking or holding the male connector (2) and the female connector (21) in a mutually-connected condition, and also the springs (5) are held against the inner peripheral surface of the jack sleeve (22).

    Abstract: A connector for a coaxial cable consists of a terminal provided with a connection, an insulating terminal holder for receiving the terminal, which has a pair of opposed first and second lids at one end at a side wherefrom to receive the terminal, the first lid, when closed, locking the terminal in the terminal holder, and a conductive shield cover mounted on the terminal holder, the shield cover having a holding means at one end toward the coaxial cable, the connection hole of the terminal and the holding means being aligned with each other when the shield cover is mounted on the terminal holder, wherein when the coaxial cable is advanced, the conductor is inserted into the connection hole and the braid is located on the holding means to position the conductor and the braid at one time. The load on the conductor is reduced, the manufacturing process is simplified, and reliability is improved.

    Abstract: A shield terminal is provided so as to prevent a shield wire from being damaged at time of cutting off a chain body connected to the shield terminal. The shield wire 11 includes a conductive braided wire 11c and an insulating outer rind 11d. The shield terminal 1 includes a pair of first press-fitting pieces 4, 4 and a pair of second press-fitting pieces 5, 5 all formed on an end portion of the terminal 1 and a pair of connecting edges 6, 6 and a pair of hooking pieces 7, 7 all formed on the other end portion. The second press-fitting pieces 5, 5 are provided with engagement holes 5a, 5a for engagement with the hooking pieces 7, 7. When the other end portion is folded back to the end portion of the terminal 1, the connecting edges 6, 6 are fixed on the first press-fitting pieces 4, 4 while the engagement holes 5a, 5a are engaged with the hooking pieces 7, 7. The cutting of the chain body 10 can be performed before fitting the shield wire 11 to the shield terminal 1.

The jack has an engagement portion formed along the inner circumference of the plug insertion inlet of the socket so that the engagement portion locks the lock portions when the attachment plug is inserted into the jack. The engagement portion is formed by folding an end portion of the socket at the plug insertion inlet.

Thrusting portions are respectively formed on the braid clamping strips. The thrusting portions are thrust into the braid when the coaxial cable is mounted on the mounting plate.

The mechanism further includes a positioning member having a first component on the mounting member and a second component on the support plate, which engage to prevent rotation of the retaining portion about an axis of insertion of the retaining portion so as to locate the connector housing in a predetermined position when the retaining portion is being inserted into the mounting hole.

    Abstract: A main connector (31) which is provided on a car body (37) and is attachable to an insertion-side connector (53) provided on an instrument panel (51). A holding shaft (39b) projects from a car body (37). The main connector (31) includes a movable bracket (35) and a connector body (33) attached to the movable bracket. A holding-shaft insertion hole (35g) is formed in the movable bracket (35) so that the holding shaft (39b) is loosely fitted in the hole. Flexible lock arms (49) are provided on the holding shaft (39b) for temporarily locking the movable bracket (35) on the holding shaft (39b). When the insertion-side connector is fitted to the main connector (31), the movable bracket (35) is separated from the holding shaft (39b), releasing the fixed relationship between the movable bracket (35) and the holding shaft (39b). As a result, no load is exerted on the terminal contact between the insertion-side connector (53) and the main connector (31) due to vibrations of the car body.
