  • Patent number: 5839840
Abstract: A platen holder 8 is provided with a stopper member 12 which comes into contact with a lever 20 depressed when the platen holder 8 is rotated to a home position by removing of a cassette cover 2B from an upper cover 2A. The stopper member 12 is formed to have a contact plane 12A so that an angle .alpha. defined between the contact plane 12A and an imaginary line connecting a tip end R of the stopper member 12 and a fixed point P is set to approximately 90.degree. or less than 90.degree.. A projection part 13 is provided in the platen holder 8, which is to be pressed by a tape cassette 4 when inserted in a tape receiving part. When the platen holder 8 is rotated to an operational position after the cassette cover 2B is attached to the upper cover 2A, a clearance is produced between the projection part 13 of the platen holder 8 and the tape cassette 4.

  • Patent number: 5225822
Abstract: A data processing device is provided with a liquid crystal display incorporating electroluminescent backlighting, in which the electroluminescent backlighting panel is provided with several degrees of luminosity. A selection circuit specifies the degree of luminosity to allow the electroluminescent backlighting panel to generate the selected luminosity level.

  • Patent number: 5193766
Abstract: In a rendezvous maneuver for approaching a rendezvous spacecraft to a target spacecraft through a reference trajectory for approach which is different in altitude and period from a trajectory of the target spacecraft, when the rendezvous spacecraft is deviated from the reference trajectory for approach as a result from a failure in the maneuver, it is first maneuvered in the direction of altitude after 0.2 revolutions of the rendezvous spacecraft, and then maneuvered in the direction of phase after another 0.2 revolutions. The rendezvous spacecraft is thereby restored to the reference trajectory with no fear of entering a collision course, so that high reliable retry/recovery may be performed promptly and safely.

  • Patent number: 5065357
Abstract: A data processing machine which is provided with a liquid crystal display unit having an electroluminescent panel functioning as the backlighting source of the liquid crystal display unit, which includes a circuit for counting the period during which the electroluminescent panel is inoperative and a control circuit that extinguishes the illumination of the electroluminescent panel in response to a signal output from the time-counting circuit. Furthermore, a circuit indicating to the operator that the extinguished illumination of the electroluminescent panel is due to operation of the above controlled circuit can also be provided.

  • Patent number: 4933708
Abstract: An image recording apparatus which eliminates a positive film for carrying photomasks. The apparatus for recording an image on a recording medium uses a recording media including first and second recording mediums. The first recording medium has first and second surfaces and is provided with a first material whose phase is changeable upon light exposure, and the second recording medium is provided with a second material reactable with the first material for forming a final output image thereon. The image recording apparatus forms light-shieldable masks on the first surface of the first recording medium. A light exposure arrangement confronts the first surface of the first recording medium for irradiating light toward the mask and the first surface. A pressure-developing arrangement provides the output image on the second recording medium.

  • Patent number: 4740797
Abstract: A thermo-magnetic recording device wherein a magnetized latent image is produced on a magnetic layer by locally heating the magnetic layer. The device includes a heat-generating ribbon for generating heat upon energization thereof, at least one working electrode movable relative to the magnetic layer in a recording direction, and relative to the heat-generating ribbon in sliding contact with the heat-generating ribbon, such that the at least one working electrode locally holds the heat-generating ribbon in contact with the magnetic layer, a deive for effecting a relative movement between the ribbon and the at least one working electrode, and at least one auxiliary electrode placed in direct or indirect contact with the heat-generating ribbon.
