  • Publication number: 20050265743
Abstract: A laser printer capable of controlling the operation of a fixing heater to heat a roller, including an energizing circuit for energizing a heater, a temperature detecting circuit such as thermistors, a noise canceling circuit, and a control circuit for controlling the energizing circuit and the heater. After receiving a voltage indicating an abnormal temperature of the heater over a prescribed length of time duration, the noise canceling circuit is configured to transmit a LOW level voltage to a latch circuit as an abnormality signal. The control circuit suspends the energization of the heater in response to the abnormality signal.

  • Publication number: 20040062984
Abstract: A manganese dry battery with excellent leak-proof property is provided, in which electrolyte leakage does not occur even if the size of a positive electrode material mixture is increased to meet a demand for improvement in discharge property. In a sealing part, a first circular projection, a second circular projection and a third circular projection are arranged at the bottom in sequence from the center to the outside, and a positive electrode carbon rod supporting part is provided in an innermost periphery portion to have an interval from the first circular projection. A groove between the first projection and the carbon rod is formed to have a substantially rectangular vertical section, kraft board is pressed by flat bottom surfaces of the first and second projections and an opening of the zinc can is fitted between the second and third projections.

  • Patent number: 6703157
Abstract: The present invention provides a high-capacity cylindrical battery, wherein a burst-proof mechanism, which functions to discharge a gas outside when the internal pressure of the battery abnormally increases, does not sacrifice the space for power generating elements but increases the total capacity for power generating elements. The cylindrical battery of the present invention has a circular groove formed in the vicinity of an opening of a battery case, in which power generating elements are accommodated, the circular groove having a bottom that is bent inward the battery case and has at least one gas discharge aperture, which is sealed with a seal element. The seal element is an elastic ring to be set in the groove and seal the gas discharge aperture. This arrangement enables the gas discharge aperture to be sealed again even after the burst-proof mechanism functions, thereby ensuring a continuous use of the battery.

  • Patent number: 6077521
Abstract: Mosquito abatement is effected by administering to a water source containing mosquitoes an effective amount of a water-insoluble alcohol in a water-miscible form. The water-miscible form is provided in a wide variety of ways such as mechanical agitation (e.g. sonication), addition of a surfactant (e.g. a detergent), etc. The invention also provides labeled containers, including dispensers, containing a composition comprising a water-insoluble alcohol in a water miscible form and an affixed legible label providing instructions for the use of the composition for mosquito abatement.

  • Patent number: 5518834
Abstract: The sealing of the top and/or bottom of the cylindrical positive electrode of an air-cell is improved and leakage of the electrolyte from the jellied zinc negative electrode disposed within the positive electrode which is constituted of a collector layer, catalyst layer, and a porous layer is prevented. By utilizing a positive electrode constituted of a metallic collector layer made of a metal mesh or such, a catalyst layer disposed around said collector, and a fluororesin porous layer as an air diffusion layer, an outer cup and an inner cup are pressed on the top of the positive electrode in order to prevent the leakage of the electrolyte.

  • Patent number: 5316557
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process to manufacture alkaline cells by applying electrically conductive paint on an inner wall area of cathode container which contacts with cathode molds, and by heating said cathode container itself by applying electromagnetic induction in order to dry and/or cure the paint and to form a uniform electrically conductive coating layer adhered firmly on the inner wall of said container. By employing this process, continuous production of alkaline cells having excellent and uniform load characteristics which deteriorate very little became possible.
