  • Publication number: 20080243019
Abstract: A respiratory function measuring device comprises: a three-dimensional measuring unit that measures a chest movement and an abdomen movement of a breathing animal; a first measuring unit that measures a time T1 where a rate of volume decrease of the abdomen is maximized in an expiration; a second measuring unit that measures a time T2 where a rate of volume decrease of the chest is maximized in the expiration; and a respiratory time difference outputting unit that computes and outputs a value Tde corresponding to T2-T1. This allows measuring respiratory function to diagnose an obstructive pulmonary disease, a restrictive pulmonary disease, and the like in a natural state, for a subject of a breathing animal, even if the subject does not have a sense of self-awareness.

  • Patent number: 7414612
Abstract: In an analog input device, a rubber member is provided between a key top and a movable electrode of an analog-quantity generating unit. A dead zone can be removed or reduced by forming a bottom portion of the rubber member of a flat or curved face. Furthermore, since first round surfaces are connected to an outer side face, the linearity of the input (e.g., a load)-output (voltage) characteristic can be enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7287174
Abstract: An input device includes contacts having resistive elements and low-resistance elements opposing the respective resistive elements, an operating unit varying the contact areas between the low-resistance elements and the resistive elements, and detecting means for switching an operation mode of the input device in response to the operation of a supporting leg provided on the operating unit. When the operating unit is not operated, the detecting means switches the operation mode to a sleep mode while the resistive elements and the low-resistance elements are kept in contact with each other. When the operating unit is operated, the detecting means switches the operation mode and the sleep mode is disabled.

  • Patent number: 7266758
Abstract: A network monitoring program automatically sorts fault producing locations on a network. A memory unit stores a fault location determining table containing events indicative of failures of communications via the network, the events being associated with classified elements which can be causes of faults on the network. A communication situation monitoring unit monitors communication situations with respect to other apparatus on the network. A failure detecting unit detects an event indicative of a failure from a communication situation detected by the communication situation monitoring unit. A fault location determining unit determines an element which is responsible for the event detected by the failure detecting unit by referring to the fault location determining table. A fault information output unit outputs fault information representative of a determined result from the fault location determining unit.

  • Patent number: 7178405
Abstract: A pressure sensor includes a surface sheet whose front side is an operating surface and a substrate sheet that includes a plurality of switches and that is disposed below the back side of the surface sheet at a predetermined space therebetween. When the operating surface is depressed, the surface sheet is deformed toward the substrate sheet and a switch of the plurality of switches is turned into an input state, and a resolution of a switch signal from each of the switches varies in accordance with the amount of a pressing force applied on the operating surface. Therefore, an electronic device, such as a cellular phone, installed with the pressure sensor can have various functions realized by a variation in the resolution.

  • Publication number: 20050110149
Abstract: A silica-based interlayer insulating layer having a low dielectric constant is formed with SOG material on a substrate, in which a wiring-layer forming space is then formed. If necessary, a UV ray irradiation is performed under an oxidizing atmosphere. A Si—OH bond is formed on a surface of the insulating layer. A monomolecular layer film is then adhered to the inner surface of the space, which is then modified to be a catalyst with a solution containing Pd compound. On the catalyst monomolecular layer, a copper-diffusion-resistant film is formed by electroless plating, on which a copper plate is then formed as a wiring layer.

  • Publication number: 20050030281
Abstract: An input device contains a resistance-element series formed by series-connected resistance elements, low resistors opposing the resistance elements, an operating object which brings one of the low resistors into contact with one of the resistance elements and changes the contact area therebetween, an output point at the midpoint between resistance elements, and a controller. When the resistance element and low resistor are not in contact, the input device enters a sleep mode in which the resistance-element series or low resistors have a high potential and the other a low potential. In the sleep mode, determination that the operating object has been operated occurs when a change in voltage or current on the low potential side is detected. A voltage is applied across ends of the resistance-element series, and the device enters a detection mode in which the output is based on the contact area change.

  • Patent number: 6746963
Abstract: A method for processing a coating film includes the steps of forming a silica group coating film having a low dielectric constant on a substrate, conducting an etching process to the silica group coating film through a photoresist pattern, and processing the silica group coating film with plasma induced from helium gas. With this, it is possible to prevent the silica group coating film from being damaged when a wet stripping process is conducted to remove the photoresist pattern as a subsequent process, and to maintain the low dielectric constant of the coating film.
