  • Publication number: 20060159872
Abstract: The present invention relates to a recording medium, in particular an ink-jet recording medium of photographic quality that has excellent ink absorption speed, good drying characteristics and a good image printing quality. According to the present invention, an ink-jet recording medium is provided, comprising a support to which at least an underlayer and an overlayer is supplied in which the underlayer is a multilayer of sublayers, comprising a mixture of gelatin and at least one type of water soluble polymer, wherein the sublayer farthest away from said support comprises a lower ratio of gelatin/water soluble polymer, compared to the ratio in the sublayer(s) nearer to the support. The present invention is further directed to methods for obtaining and using such a medium.

  • Patent number: 5811227
Abstract: A dispersing method carried out in a liquid feeding system includes passing a dispersing medium containing an oil droplet type emulsified material at a flow rate of not less than 5 cc/cm.sup.2.min through a filter with a plurality of pores having such a size as to permit an oil droplet type emulsified material having a predetermined particle diameter to pass therethrough to reduce the size of the coarse particles of the oil droplet type emulsified material to below a predetermined particle diameter. The dispersing method is particularly suitable for use in the production of photographic layers.
