  • Patent number: 4938304
Abstract: First, second and third levers are disposed pivotably and rotatably relative to each other about a predetermined axis. The first lever is operated in association with an accelerator to be rotated in a predetermined one direction in accordance with operation in a direction of opening the accelerator. The second lever is operated in association with a throttle valve so as to open the throttle valve when the second levler is pivotted in the predetermined one direction and it is urged by a first urging member in a direction of closing the throttle valve. The first lever is provided with a first stopper section and the second lever is provided with a second stopper section as to be abuttable with the first stopper section from the predetermined one direction. The first stopper section is urged in such a manner as being brought into abut with the second stopper section by means of a second urging member larger in an urging force than the first urging member.

  • Patent number: 4928652
Abstract: An engine control system for suppressing vibration of a car body, primarily at acceleration thereof, by varying engine output torque. The system for suppression of the car body vibration takes into consideration car vibration detection delay time created by the intermittent detection of vibration data. The system includes a detector for intermittently detecting data relating to car body vibration, a period setting device for setting a period of car body vibration, a delay time setting device for setting a delay time corresponding to a detection delay time due to the intermittent detection of the vibration data detector, and a torque controller for controlling engine output torque by advancing a phase of engine output torque control timing by the delay time corresponding to the detection delay time, which is set by the delay time setting device, in each period of car body vibration set by the period setting device.

  • Patent number: 4833612
Abstract: A vehicle constant speed control system including a vehicle speed detector and a controller for controlling the engine throttle valve so that the engine output is controlled to make the vehicle speed approach a target speed. The controller compares the actual vehicle speed with the target speed and calculates a required driving torque for driving the vehicle at the target speed and a target throttle valve position which is required for producing the required driving torque. The controller then produces a driving signal to actuate the engine throttle valve so that the required driving torque is produced and the target speed is attained.

  • Patent number: 4760826
Abstract: Engine throttle valve control device having a step motor to operate a throttle valve which comprises detecting means for detecting the need for changing the rotational direction of the step motor, and delaying means which delays the supply of the drive signal to the step motor for a predetermined period when the need for changing the rotational direction of the step motor is detected by the detecting means. In the present invention, when it is necessary to change the rotational direction of the step motor, the step motor is not immediately driven to reverse the rotational direction but is halted for a predetermined short time. After the short time passes the step motor is driven to rotate in the opposite direction. According to the present invention, the inertial force acting on the step motor when it changes its rotational direction can be avoided or decreased. Hence, loss of control of the step motor due to the inertial force is avoided, and accurate control of the throttle valve opening is performed.

  • Patent number: 4691677
Abstract: A throttle valve control system comprises an accelerator position sensor for detecting the amount of operation of the accelerator, a throttle valve opening degree determining circuit which receives the output of the accelerator position sensor and determines the opening degree of the throttle valve, and a throttle valve driving device which drives the throttle valve to the position corresponding to the opening degree determined by the throttle valve opening degree determining circuit. The throttle valve opening degree determining circuit is arranged to determine the opening degree of the throttle valve with respect to the amount of operation of the accelerator so that the change in the opening degree of the throttle valve for a given change in the amount of operation of the accelerator is relatively small when the amount of operation of the accelerator is in an intermediate range and is relatively large when the amount of operation of the accelerator is above or below the intermediate range.
