  • Patent number: 9675816
Abstract: The neutron irradiation apparatus includes an introduction tube for introducing a proton beam, a target structure provided in a lower end of the introduction tube, an aluminum fluoride layer disposed below the target structure in an irradiation path of neutrons generated in the target structure, and a heavy water layer placed under the aluminum fluoride layer in layers. The aluminum fluoride layer is set at a thickness that increases epithermal neutrons. Since use of only the aluminum fluoride layer increases its thickness too much, heavy water is placed. Heavy water moderates neutrons quickly, and allows increasing epithermal neutrons without increasing the thickness. The combination of the aluminum fluoride layer and the heavy water layer allows increasing epithermal neutrons by attenuating only fast neutrons without increasing thermal neutrons. Accordingly, neutron flux with many epithermal neutrons is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20150069680
Abstract: A electromagnetic pump is configured that a housing includes therein an outer cylinder made of stainless steel, an inner cylinder made of stainless steel and arranged inside the outer cylinder, and an electromagnetic coil arranged around the outer cylinder. The outer cylinder is configured as a conical frustum having a large diameter in the inlet side and a small diameter in the outlet side. Similarly, the inner cylinder has a large diameter in the inlet side and a small diameter in the outlet side. A duct is formed between the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder. The radial cross sectional area of the duct is large in the inlet side and small in the outlet side.

  • Patent number: 6044246
Abstract: An object of the invention is to accommodate sheets, as coming from two image forming units, in a small-sized sheet accommodating apparatus. The individual sheets S from the first and second image forming units are fetched in different directions X1 and Y1 by a sheet pedestal and accommodated in a stack. The sheets S are registered by stoppers which can be moved in the fetching directions X1 and Y1, respectively. The sheets can be fetched in registration by inclining the sheet pedestal into first and second modes and can be fetched in an image forming direction and in a sheet direction by turning at least the sheet pedestal in a horizontal direction. The sheets S are stapled as the post-processing and are discharged in a discharge direction X2 along the fetching direction X1 from the sheet pedestal by a push member.

  • Patent number: 4688929
Abstract: An electrophotographic copying machine includes a control circuit, a combined display responsive to the control circuit for showing the number of one or more copied papers, and the position of any paper jam or the operation condition. The combined display utilizes figure segments illuminated to form any figure, silhouette segments of the figure segments illuminated to provide a silhouette of the copying machine, and position marks illuminated to indicate the position of trouble in the machine and its operation conditions.

  • Patent number: 4631798
Abstract: A release agent applicator for a copying machine in which voids in the release agent contained in the applicator are substantially eliminated, thus providing an improved spreading performance of the release agent onto a fixing roll of the copying machine. The release agent applicator is made of a porous polyethylene tetrafluoride tube, the pores of which are partially closed except in areas where the release agent is to ooze out onto the fixing roll. Those partially closed pores in the tube are partially closed by a flattening operation so that they cannot draw release agent thereinto by capillary action.

  • Patent number: 4580521
Abstract: A release agent applicator for use with a copying machine providing even application of the release agent to a fixing roll of a plain paper copying machine with little leakage of the release agent. A porous polyethylene tetrafluoride resin tube is accommodated in a divided-type support composed of two members which, when joined together, form a longitudinally extending opening having a width smaller than the maximum width of a cavity formed inside the support. The major portion of the outer surface of the porous resin tube is in contact with abutting walls of the cavity to be sealed thereby, and the remaining portion of the tube surface extends outwardly through the support opening to provide a release agent outlet. Both the porous tube and the support may be provided with air inlets having the diameter greater than the diameters of the pores in the porous tube to introduce air into the interior of the porous tube.

  • Patent number: 4573428
Abstract: An improved release agent applicator for use with a copying machine in which a porous polyethylene tetrafluoride resin tube is installed in a support with the part of the tube which forms an outlet for the release agent contained in the tube projecting from an opening in the support. The outer surface of the porous tube is covered with a film of a polymer having a low melting point, such as polyethylene. When the applicator is installed, the normal heating of the fixing roll causes the polymer film to melt, opening the applicator for use. Accordingly, leakage from the applicator prior to use is prevented.
