  • Patent number: 6060520
Abstract: Aqueous emulsions based on acrylic polymers and their use for preparing films to be used in processes of preparation of cathode ray tubes, having filming temperature between about 20 and 40.degree. C. which after drying produce films which, submitted to heating in nitrogen atmosphere, have a weight loss, for films having a thickness of 1-2 mm, and for the following cycle of heating:11.degree. C./minute from 25 to 375.degree. C.,5.degree. C./minute from 375 to 440.degree. C.,isotherm at 440.degree. C. for 45 minutes, respectively of:from 25 to 245.degree. C. lower than 15% by weightfrom 245 to 375.degree. C. from 30 to 70% by weightfrom 375 to 440.degree. C. of 97-99% by weightafter the isotherm at 440.degree. C. the remaining residue is lower than about 0.3% by weight, the curve gradient in the on set point ranging from 0.03 to 0.08 mg/.degree. K, and at 360.degree. C. from 0.12 to 0.30 mg/.degree. K; the on set temperature being at most of 300.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 5731378
Abstract: This invention relates to aqueous emulsions based on uncured and uncurable acrylic polymers and their use for the forming process of the cathode ray tube comprising as comonomers the following components:A) butylmethacrylate from 45-70 parts by weightB) methylmethacrylate from 20-45 parts by weightC) methacrylic acid from 1-4 parts by weightD) ethylacrylate from 5-9 parts by weighthaving a minimum filming temperature such as to produce film between about 20.degree. and 40.degree. C., with or without the use of coalescent agents, the nitrogen thermal cycle which simulates that utilized in the CRT process, being the following:1.degree. scanning: from 25.degree. C. to 375.degree. C. at 11.degree. C./min.2.degree. scanning: from 75.degree. C. to 440.degree. C. at 5.degree. C./min.3.degree. scanning: isotherm at 440.degree. C. for 45 minutes, the organic residue after said thermal treatment being lower than 0.05% by weight, preferably 0.01%.
