Abstract: The invention regards a hearing aid comprising a receiver and a signal processing device, wherein the signal processing device is electrically coupled to a connection socket operable to detachably connect the receiver to the socket and whereby the signal processing device further comprise a detector operable to detect a characteristics of the receiver which is connected to the signal processing device through the connection socket. The present invention addresses the problem of identification of individual receiver properties as well as of identifying different types of receivers.

Abstract: The invention comprises a hearing aid, which has a casing containing a signal receiving part for receiving an audio signal, an audio transducer for providing an audio signal to the user, a signal transmission path between the signal receiving part and the audio transducer, whereby a battery is provided for powering the signal receiving part, the signal path and the audio transducer, and where further means are provided for assessing the function of the hearing aid and for generating an electrical indication signal which indicates the function of the hearing aid and where further means are provided for intermittently generating a power signal in response to the electrical indication signal and where means are provided for converting the power signal into a light signal, such that the light signal is visible from outside the hearing aid.

Abstract: A digital communication device such as a hearing aid or a headset has a power supply, a signal processing device, means for receiving a wireless signal and a receiver or loudspeaker which produces an audio signal based on a modulated pulsed signal with high frequency shifting rate produced by the signal processing device. The receiver also has a first and a second connection point for receiving the pulsed modulated signal wherein the sound-producing parts of the receiver are at least partially enclosed by a metal box, and a third connection point is provided which is in electrical contact with the metal of the metal box. The third connection point is connected to the electric circuitry of the communication device at a point having a stable and well defined electrical potential. In this way the electro- and magnetic radiation from the metal parts of the receiver is reduced.
