  • Publication number: 20160083301
Abstract: PCBN material comprising at least 30 volume per cent cubic boron nitride (cBN) grains (10) bonded together by a matrix comprising aluminium nitride (20), and a plurality of regions (30) comprising boron and aluminium atoms, in which regions there are at least 15 times more boron atoms than aluminium atoms present. The regions comprise an aluminium boride phase of the inorganic chemical formula Al xBy, where x is at least 0.8 and at most 1.2, and y is at least 15, the ratio y:x being at least 15. The cubic boron nitride ceramic has been made by mixing cBN and Al grains and sintering at at least 1500 degrees Celcius and 4.5 GPa.

  • Publication number: 20150218056
Abstract: A method for making a treated super-hard structure, the method including providing a super-hard structure comprising super-hard material selected from polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) material or thermally stable polycrystalline diamond (PCD) material; subjecting the super-hard structure to heat treatment at a treatment temperature of greater than 700 degrees centigrade at a treatment pressure at which the super-hard material is not thermodynamically stable, for a treatment period of at least about 5 minutes to produce the treated super-hard structure.

  • Publication number: 20060123619
Abstract: A method of forming a strike for a closure involves cutting a metal plate to form a blank having a striker section with a width greater than the thickness of the plate. The striker section may then be compressed to a substantially cylindrical shape. By appropriate choice of the width of the striker section of the blank, after compression, the cylindrical striker section will have a diameter greater than the thickness of the plate.

  • Patent number: 6814523
Abstract: Connecting element for joining two support members (2, 3) absorbing tensile forces, which connecting element (1) comprises at least a first and a second casing body (5, 6) with a through-hole (7) for receiving the respective support members (2, 3), which casing bodies (5, 6) can be joined together by way of a joining section (9) at a first end (11) of each casing body (5, 6), the opposing second end (13) of each casing body (5, 6) being provided with locking members (15, 16) for holding the support members (2, 3) fast. In a working position the locking member (15, 16) of at least one casing body (5, 6) produces an axial locking of the support member (2, 3) running through the casing body (5, 6) by way of a stop part (20) created on the support member (2, 3) within the area of the second end (13) of the casing body (5, 6).

  • Patent number: 4573687
Abstract: This invention relates to a golf training device which includes a frame (1), a golf ball (2) which before a shot is placed on a specific place relative to the frame and which is also joined to one end of a cord (3). The other end of the cord (3) is joined to a cylindrical drum (12) which is mounted in bearings in the frame (1) to allow it to rotate and around which most of said cord (3) is wound. The golf training device also includes a device operatively connected to the drum (12) arranged to take up the kinetic energy which the golf ball (2) obtains at the shot, to indicate a corresponding distance and to lock the drum (12) at the same moment as the ball (2) stops after the shot.

  • Patent number: 4056473
Abstract: A rotary filter for concentrating fiber suspensions comprises annular disks mounted in parallel and spaced from each other on a motor-driven drum having a lattice-shaped cylindrical wall, the drum being journalled in a vessel for liquid to be filtrated. Each filter disk is composed of sector-shaped filter boxes having at least two opposite filter walls and connected to outlet conduits included in the lattice-shaped wall of the drum. Further, a collecting hopper is stationary inserted in the drum to collect concentrated pulp falling down through the lattice-shaped drum wall from the filter surfaces at the moment such surfaces are in their uppermost positions.
