Abstract: A retrofit electrical outlet comprises an electrical box comprising one or more moveable braces coupled to linear brace actuators, whereby pulling on the linear brace actuator causes the brace to move toward the front end of the box to impinge a wall surface material between the brace and a front flange of the box. Releases may be included to allow for adjustment of the braces. The braces may move linearly or pivotally toward the wall surface material. The linear brace actuator may be stored within the wall for future use.

Abstract: A method and structure of a system of electrical boxes having at least two screw boss channels and at least two screw protrusions wherein the screw boss channels are complimentary shaped to the screw protrusions for selectively nesting like-ganged electrical boxes while preventing nesting of dislike-ganged electrical boxes for more space-efficient storage of electrical boxes while increasing inventory control and accuracy.

Abstract: An electrical device cover includes a base with a wall structure having at least two pairs of opposing walls located perpendicular to each other and an opening in a back side large enough to receive an electrical device. An exterior surface of at least a first wall has at least one rail running perpendicular to a plane in which the back side of the base resides and the base of a detachable hinge component is slidably coupled to the at least one rail. The detachable hinge component has at least one hinge member that is parallel to the base of the hinge component and a lid with at least one hinge tab in which the at least one hinge member seats such that the lid is pivotally coupled to the hinge component.

Abstract: An electrical box has a back portion with a back wall and various side walls. Coupled to the back portion is a sliding ring portion having various side walls. The sliding ring portion is slidably mounted on the back portion such that there is an extended position with a first depth and a collapsed position with a second depth where the first depth is greater than the second depth. Prior to installation, the electrical box would be in the collapsed position in order to minimize the space occupied by the electrical box. When installed, the electrical box would be used in the extended position, such that the full depth of the electrical box can be used.
