  • Patent number: 11880911
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to techniques for transitioning between imagery and sounds of two different environments, such as a virtual environment and a real environment. A view of a first environment and audio associated with the first environment are provided. In response to detecting a transition event, a view of the first environment combined with a second environment is provided. The combined view includes imagery of the first environment at a first visibility value and imagery of the second environment at a second visibility value. In addition, in response to detecting a transition event, the first environment audio is mixed with audio associated with the second environment.

  • Publication number: 20240021057
Abstract: A system for monitoring shopping baskets (e.g., baskets on human-propelled carts, motorized carts, or hand-carried baskets) can include a computer vision unit that can image a surveillance region (e.g., an exit to a store), determine whether a basket is empty or loaded with merchandise, and assess a potential for theft of the merchandise. The computer vision unit can include a camera and an image processor programmed to execute a computer vision algorithm to identify shopping baskets and determine a load status of the basket. The computer vision algorithm can comprise a neural network. The system can identify an at least partially loaded shopping basket that is exiting the store, without indicia of having paid for the merchandise, and execute an anti-theft action, e.g., actuating an alarm, notifying store personnel, activating a store surveillance system, activating an anti-theft device associated with the basket (e.g., a locking shopping cart wheel), etc.

  • Publication number: 20230386095
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to techniques for presenting a combined view of a virtual environment and a real environment in response to detecting a transition event associated with an object in the real environment. While presenting the combined view, if an input of a first type is detected, the combined view is adjusted by increasing the visibility of imagery of the virtual environment and decreasing the visibility of imagery of the real environment. If an input of a second type is detected, the combined view is adjusted by decreasing the visibility of the imagery of the virtual environment and increasing the visibility of the imagery of the real environment.

  • Publication number: 20230359390
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure configure a system component, such as a memory sub-system controller, to provide a configurable buffer device. The configuration buffer device is coupled between a processing device and a set of memory components. The configurable buffer device can be configured based on configuration data to couple a first quantity of front-side channels to a second quantity of back-side channels. The configuration data can be received from an external source, such as the processing device, or can be stored in a configuration register at manufacture. The configuration data can also be generated or determined based on one or more pins of the buffer device that control how many font-side channels and how many back-side channels to enable/disable.

  • Patent number: 11790569
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to techniques for inserting imagery from a real environment into a virtual environment. While presenting (e.g., displaying) the virtual environment at an electronic device, a proximity of the electronic device to a physical object located in a real environment is detected. In response to detecting that the proximity of the electronic device to the physical object is less than a first threshold distance, imagery of the physical object is isolated from other imagery of the real environment. The isolated imagery of the physical object is inserted into the virtual environment at a location corresponding to the location of the physical object in the real environment. The imagery of the physical object has a first visibility value associated with the proximity of the electronic device to the physical object.

  • Patent number: 11759304
Abstract: An apparatus enables concurrent restoration of a gastroesophageal valve and tightening of the lower esophageal sphincter. The apparatus comprises a longitudinal member having a distal end arranged to be received within a stomach, a tissue shaper at the distal end of the longitudinal member that forms a gastroesophageal valve from stomach tissue, and a tissue gatherer that gathers fundus tissue at or aboral to the gastroesophageal junction to reduce an esophageal opening into the stomach and tighten the lower esophageal sphincter. A fastener deployer then deploys at least one fastener pair to maintain both the restored gastroesophageal valve and the tightened lower esophageal sphincter.

  • Patent number: 11718336
Abstract: A navigation system uses a dead reckoning method to estimate an object's present position relative to one or more prior positions. In some embodiments, the dead reckoning method determines a change in position from the object's heading and speed during an elapsed time interval. In embodiments suitable for use with wheeled objects, the dead reckoning method determines the change in position by measuring the heading and the amount of wheel rotation. Some or all of the components of the navigation system may be disposed within a wheel, such as a wheel of a shopping cart.

  • Patent number: 11720543
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing queries of a graph database. During operation, the system stores intermediate results of the query in a structure comprising rows in a set of tables and links between pairs of rows in different tables in the set of tables. Next, the system tracks, in the structure, representations of data, relationships, and path consistency in the query. The system then applies one or more operations to existing rows in the structure to generate a final result of the query. Finally, the system provides the final result in a response to the query.

  • Patent number: 11704309
Abstract: The disclosed technologies are capable of selectively using data structure operations for path query evaluation. One technique involves reading a query that traverses at least two nodes and at least one edge of a graph in a graph database; compiling the query into a set of variables and a set of constraints, where the set of variables and the set of constraints correspond to the two nodes and the one edge of the graph; creating an in-memory data structure that comprises a table; using the set of variables and the set of constraints to determine an operation that is performable using the in-memory data structure; checking for an existence of a condition relating to the in-memory data structure or the operation; skipping the operation if the condition exists or executing the operation if the condition does not exist; and storing a set of intermediate query results in the table.

  • Patent number: 11675040
Abstract: Examples of systems and methods for calibrating or operating a magnetic sensor for sensor temperature or operating conditions are provided. The magnetic sensor can comprise a dual magnetometer sensor that comprises a first, low-power-consumption magnetometer (e.g., a magneto-inductive magnetometer) and a second higher-power-consumption magnetometer (e.g., a magneto-resistive magnetometer). The second magnetometer can have a lower unit-to-unit variation in temperature calibration parameters and can be used to temperature-correct readings from the first magnetometer. The magnetic sensor can dynamically switch between usage of the first magnetometer and the second magnetometer in order to provide a dynamic sample rate that can depend on conditions within the sensor or external to the sensor.
