  • Publication number: 20110184320
Abstract: A system for monitoring a user's body has a single sensor patch directly affixed to the user's body. The sensor senses a condition of the user's body and transmits the sensed signal directly to a base station located remote from the sensor. The sensor can alternatively transmit the sensed signal to a receiver located in the user's helmet. The helmet optionally includes a power module which wirelessly provides power to the sensor. Since the sensor is affixed to the user, and not the helmet, it will only record impact to the user's body. Once the helmet is removed from the user's head, the sensor is powered off or can remain charged for a short period of time by a chargeable power source to record any subsequent impact to the user's body.

  • Publication number: 20090000377
Abstract: A brain and/or skull impact measurement system has a body mounted impact device. The body mounted impact device includes a tri-axial accelerometer configured to measure impacts to an individual's body where the sensor produces impact data in response to the impact. A reader is provided with a data processor and a transmitter/receiver that receives the impact data. The reader is coupled to the body mounted impact device and can be a handheld device.

  • Patent number: 7224640
Abstract: In an underwater acoustic bearing sensor, the vector sensor, heading sensor, and pitch and roll sensor are held in a common mounting ring to ensure that their coordinate systems are collinear. The vector sensor includes x, y, and z accelerometers mounted in the ring and a hydrophone that can be mounted independently.

  • Patent number: 6072880
Abstract: A modular Active Noise Control exhaust silencing system is provided including a housing defining an acoustic enclosure having an acoustic outlet port. A speaker is disposed within the acoustic enclosure and an amplifier is disposed within the housing and connected to the speaker. A microphone is associated with the housing for detecting the exhaust noise. A control unit is disposed within the housing in communication with the microphone for receiving signals therefrom. The control unit determines an anti-noise signal for the amplifier for creating an anti-noise responsive to a detected noise source. A port dish is disposed adjacent to the acoustic outlet port which serves as a noise cancellation aid.

  • Patent number: 5848168
Abstract: An active noise conditioning system for use with a combustion engine exhaust system is provided. A controller receives an exhaust noise signal, along with various other feedback signals for producing an anti-noise signal in response to the input signals. An amplifier is provided for receiving and amplifying the anti-noise signal. A wave generator receives the amplified anti-noise signal and generates an audio anti-noise signal. The output of the wave generator is collocated with the exhaust pipe of the exhaust system, where the audio anti-noise signal and the exhaust noise are acoustically coupled, which effects cancelling of the exhaust noise.
