  • Publication number: 20050078006
Abstract: A system is described for management of an operations area. The management system includes a central processing component with one or more central processors. An active monitoring system component is connected to the central processor. The active monitoring system includes tags and readers for individual identification of one or more tagged entities. The active monitoring system component is arrayed to create a management zone. The tags and readers are linked to the central processing component such that information from the tags and readers is received and analyzed by the central processing component. A passive monitoring system component is connected to the central processor. The passive monitoring system identifies non-tagged entities entering the management zone and additional information is communicated to the central processing component for analysis.

  • Publication number: 20050040970
Abstract: A system for providing information to traffic ways, such as roadways, runways and walkways. The system includes one or more lamp modules arranged into a message array, which may be embedded into the traffic way so as to provide enhanced viewing by a traveller, driver or the like. The message array may be controlled by signals generated by a central processing unit. Sensors, which may be remote from and/or positioned within the lamp modules sense various environmental conditions. The sensed conditions may be used by the central processing unit to generate predetermined signals in response to the sensed condition.

  • Patent number: 6105470
Abstract: A motorized shingle removing hand tool comprising a blade assembly shiftable between a normal extended position and a retracted position. The blade assembly is biased to its normal extended position and is shifted to its retracted position by a motor driven cam which thereafter allows the blade assembly to be driven to its extended position by the biasing mechanism. The tool comprises a base on which the motor is mounted. The blade assembly comprises a blade and its support mechanism which is mounted in bushing blocks affixed to the base. The base is provided with an openable cover to keep the motor, the cam, the blade support mechanism, the biasing elements and the bushings free from dirt and foreign material. The tool includes an adjustable handle and an actuating trigger with an associated variable speed control switch, and a carrying strap.

  • Patent number: 5488165
Abstract: A modified natural clinoptilolite, produced by treating a natural clinoptilolite with a suitable mineral acid or with a suitable alkali and then with a suitable mineral acid, is used as a catalyst in a process for the conversion of methanol and ammonia to give a product containing at least 50% by weight of monomethylamine.

  • Patent number: 5325615
Abstract: An attachment, adapted to mount to the front edge of an excavating bucket, includes a working structure and a base. The front edge of the bucket defines an inner surface, an outer surface, and a beveled surface oriented at an inclination to the inner and outer surfaces. The base of the attachment includes a single leg or pair of legs having opposed engagement surfaces. The engagement surfaces on the two legged attachments diverge from one another to define a gap therebetween for receiving the lip of the bucket. One of the engagement surfaces defines a convex surface which enables the attachment to be mounted to a variety of different buckets irrespective of the inclination of the beveled surface of the front edge.

  • Patent number: 5199177
Abstract: A lighted level including a frame having parallel working surfaces and an inner connecting web having an aperture with a pair of notches for supporting a liquid-containing vial. The level includes a light emitting diode for illuminating the vial. The level is constructed for automatic drop-in assembly of each of the component parts, including a printed circuit board containing the lighting circuitry, without requiring wires, screws, pins, pegs or bolts.

  • Patent number: 5146126
Abstract: A rotary direct drive servovalve having a force motor which includes a rotor assembly positioned within an isolation tube which is surrounded by a stator assembly. A permanent magnet is disposed adjacent a closed end of the isolation tube and is rotatable to position the rotor at a desired predetermined position by interaction of magnetic forces between the permanent magnet and permanent magnets disposed upon the rotor. The permanent magnet is clamped in position subsequent to adjustment to thereby provide centering forces on the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4836374
Abstract: An attractive fabric covered fitted tool case includes a pair of platform members each having a multiplicity of pockets in their top wall to receive a multiplicity of tools, and relatively rigid support members under the platform members to provide structural support therefor. An elongated base sheet underlies the platform members and extends therebetween to provide a spacer section about which the platform members may be folded into abutting relationship in the closed position of the case. A fabric cover is provided on the outer surface of the base sheet and a releasable closure secures the tool case in closed position. The tool case may additionally include one or more pockets on its principal faces, and one of the pockets may include a pair of hanging rings which are pivotally mounted within a pocket so as to be able to be pivoted from a concealed position within the pocket to an exposed position for hanging the tool case.

  • Patent number: 4583294
Abstract: A housing of a coiled tape measuring rule has a bottom wall in which is formed an aperture for the discharge of dirt and other contamination from the enclosure defined therewithin. The aperture has an enlarged inner end to provide an entrance portion for promoting the exit of particulate matter from the housing, while the relatively small outer end inhibits the passage of dirt in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4449302
Abstract: A power returnable coilable rule has elongated locking means extending from a lock button on the exterior of the casing to below the blade passage with an aperture thereon adjacent the blade passage and through which the blade extends. A lock element on the lower end of the locking means cooperates with an anvil to press the blade thereagainst and clamp the blade firmly therebetween. Biasing means biases the locking means into the blade locking position, and the lock button is depressible to release the blade during finger pressure and both depressible and movable into a position in which the locking means is releasably engaged to permit free movement.

  • Patent number: 4095635
Abstract: A coping saw of the type having a generally U-shaped frame with a pair of spaced legs has mounted thereon adjacent the free ends of the legs elongated anchor bolts with axially extending slots at their opposed ends to receive the end portions of the saw blade. Each of the anchor bolts has a generally L-shaped notch intersecting the axial slot and providing a sloping leg portion which extends from the periphery towards the opposite leg of the frame and an axial leg portion which extends from the inner end of the sloping leg portion towards the adjacent leg. The transversely extending pins on the saw blade seat in the sloping leg portions of the notches until deflection of the frame occurs. When such deflection occurs, the pins are cammed into the axial leg portions of the notches.
