  • Patent number: 11007762
Abstract: Formable films are provided that include one or more biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate layers. The formable films include a metaphase with a metaphase transition of about 180° C. to 200° C. as measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The formable films further include a molded volume of greater than 200%. Laminate structures including the formable films and processes for producing and using the formable films and laminate structures are also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 12, 2018
Date of Patent: May 18, 2021
    Assignee: Flex Films (USA) Inc.

  • Patent number: 10662311
Abstract: A thermoplastic film is provided that includes a biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate (PET) layer, a tensile strength in the longitudinal and transverse directions of about 2000 kg/cm2 or 3000 kg/cm2 or more, and a tear force in the longitudinal direction that is about 1.5 times as large as a tear force in the transverse direction. Such a film can include two or more layers. Processes for producing the thermoplastic film are also provided.
    Type: Grant
