  • Patent number: 11639018
Abstract: Techniques involve cleaning a polymer melt, which allow volatile foreign substances and solid foreign substances to be removed from the polymer melt. Such techniques involve a filter element and a vacuum of a vacuum chamber. The polymer melt is fed through the filter element into the vacuum of the vacuum chamber, The filter element binds the solid foreign substances and the vacuum chamber takes up the volatile foreign substances.

  • Patent number: 9536513
Abstract: A description is given of an aqueous polymer dispersion comprising a polymer which is obtainable by emulsion polymerization from a monomer mixture comprising as hydrophilic monomers ethoxylated (meth)acrylate monomer, acid monomer, and C1 to C20 hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylate; and also at least one hydrophobic principal monomer, selected from C1 to C20 alkyl(meth)acrylates and vinylaromatics; and also, optionally, further monomers. This polymer is preparable by at least two-stage emulsion polymerization, where in a first polymerization stage the predominant fraction or the entire amount of the hydrophilic monomers is used, and in a later polymerization stage the predominant fraction or the entire amount of the hydrophobic monomers is used. The polymer dispersion is a suitable binder for aqueous particle dispersions, more particularly of sound deadener compositions, which comprise inorganic and optionally also organic particulate solids.

  • Patent number: 7278776
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for injecting a liquid dye into a polymer melt, which includes a metering pump with a metering inlet and a metering outlet. The metering inlet connects to a dye tank and the metering outlet connects to a polymer melt carrying component. To add the liquid dye to the polymer melt in the melt carrying component in a quantity that is as uniform and accurate as possible, the invention provides for connecting the metering inlet of the metering pump to a feed outlet of a feed pump, which connects with its feed inlet to the tank. With that, it is possible to generate a feed pressure at the metering inlet of the metering pump, which can be adapted to an injection pressure at the metering outlet of the metering pump.
