Patents by Inventor Jörg KNOSPE

Jörg KNOSPE has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 9837222
Abstract: An exemplary working cylinder for a drive of an electric circuit breaker includes a base that includes a cylinder head and a cylinder body that are connected to one another. Additional components are fastened to the cylinder head as a core piece of the drive, and a thrust ring is guided on an outer surface of the cylinder body. The thrust ring compresses mechanical springs in the mechanical resilient energy storage device by way of a storage piston in a storage module.

  • Patent number: 9791044
Abstract: A locking apparatus for a hydromechanical spring energy store drive for actuating a medium-voltage or high-voltage circuit breaker is disclosed, the spring energy store drive includes a working piston, which is guided in an axial cutout in a pressure housing or working cylinder, and a spring energy store arrangement. The locking apparatus includes a first pressure region and a second pressure region, which are under elevated pressure when the circuit breaker is closed, and a third pressure region, which is unpressurized. The latching bolt can be arranged perpendicular to the working piston, via a latching apparatus, which can be arranged on a side of the latching bolt, which is to point towards the working piston and via the spring energy store arrangement, which is to be pushed away from the working piston.

  • Patent number: 9620302
Abstract: A storage module for a hydraulic stored-energy spring mechanism for operating a high-voltage switch, for example a high-voltage circuit breaker, having a spring element which acts to store energy and having a fluid for transmitting the energy of the spring element, by a moving storage piston, to a piston rod for operating the high-voltage switch, wherein the storage piston projects into the housing which is filled with fluid and the housing forms a pressurized storage reservoir for the fluid. The pressurized storage reservoir is connected to a hydraulic system of the stored-energy spring mechanism by at least one channel element which projects into the pressurized storage reservoir and a pressurized channel which is connected to the channel element. The storage piston closes a subregion of the channel element starting from a specific piston stroke “s”.

  • Patent number: 9373455
Abstract: A hydromechanical stored-energy spring mechanism is provided for operating at least one switching contact of a circuit breaker, for example, in a high-voltage switching system. The hydromechanical stored-energy spring mechanism includes a hydraulically operated close-open (CO) delay circuit configured to delay triggering of a switching process of the circuit breaker, and an electromechanical actuator provided in place of a hydraulic operation of the CO delay circuit. The electromechanical actuator generates a mechanical time delay or acceleration over an extended temperature range.
