Abstract: A mechanical arrangement for moving workpieces and/or processing remnants from processing of a workpiece comprises a load carrier and a load carrier drive. Part of the load carrier drive is formed by a rigid chain which is acted upon by a chain driving wheel supported on the load carrier. Owing to that action, the chain driving wheel takes the load carrier with it to a target position. In the process, the chain driving wheel moves together with the load carrier relative to a chain abutment against which the rigid chain is braced. Systems for processing workpieces are provided, which make use of a mechanical arrangement of the above-mentioned kind.

Abstract: So that a catheter can be made visible in ultrasound images easily and with relatively little effort, and hence positional control of a catheter can be enabled with relatively little effort, an ultrasound marking recognizable in the body of a living being by means of ultrasound is provided at the distal end of a catheter, wherein the catheter has a lumen, and the ultrasound marking is arranged in the lumen near the distal end such that it is removable via a proximal end of the catheter.

The valve plug, has, on its outer periphery, at least one groove (42, 43) opposite the connecting pieces (22, 23) connecting the connecting pieces with one another in terms of flow and having a cross-section changing in the peripheral direction. Abstract: An apparatus and method for testing the visual field of a person is provided in which the apparatus comprises light point sources distributed over the visual field of the person being examined, an input device for accepting patient responses, and a control unit that allows the points of light to light up in logarithmically graduated intensity based on the patient responses. The person being examined inputs the answer "seen" or "not sheen" into the input means which relays such information to the control unit. The control unit responds accordingly and cycles the phase intensity of the light point sources through a measurement cycle having both an increasing intensity phase and a decreasing intensity phase thereby allowing a determination of the minimum threshold at which the patient can detect the points of light within his field of vision.
