    Abstract: A rotary tabletting machine with a housing, with a matrix disk in the housing, which in an upper and a lower receiving section guides the upper and lower punch, with an upper and lower cam carrier ring rotationally rigid relative to the housing, for control of the upper and lower punch and with an upright drive shaft, below the matrix disk, driven by a rotational drive and releasably connectable to the matrix disk, wherein the matrix disk and the cam carrier rings with the upper and lower punch after release from the connections as an assembly may be commonly removed from the drive shaft, whereby the cam carrier rings laterally in each case are connected to at least one arm and the arms via an upright connection section are rigidly connected to one another and the connection section is releasably couplable to the housing such that it is secured against rotation.

    Abstract: An arrangement comprising a bore-type hobbing cutter and a holding arbor wherein the bore of the hobbing cutter has ground cylindrical centering surfaces at its ends and the arbor has complementary seating surfaces and wherein the hobbing cutter is axially chucked on the holding arbor by means of axial chucking means, where a preferably sleeve-shaped cage is disposed between centering surfaces and has a thickness which is smaller than the radial distance between centering and seating surfaces, and has an outside diameter which is smaller than the inside diameter of centering surfaces, the cage supports, in a circumferential direction, at least a number of prechucking elements, which are preferably metallic and are in contact with the associated centering surface and the seating surface, and said diameter and the distance between the contacting points or contacting lines of prechucking members are slightly larger than the radial distance between centering and seating surfaces.

    Abstract: To monitor the pressing forces of an upper and lower piston of a tablet press which cooperate as a piston pair, in the currently-known process an average value formed from successive pressing force measurement results is compared with two adjustable tolerance bounds and that average value is correlated with two adjustable individual value limits which follow the course of this average value or are fixed. Maxima of individual pressing force measurements are compared with these individual value limits. To detect certain operational difficulties involving slight damage to an individual piston while avoiding tolerance ranges which are so narrow that frequent stopping of the press occurs piston pair average value limits, with which the piston pair average value of the pressing force is compared, are associated with the individual piston pairs. These piston pair average values are stored in a controlling computer which can stop the tablet press and indicate a faulty piston.
