Abstract: A mobile device which is assigned to a person transmits an identification to a central device where localization of the mobile device is initiated. After the mobile device has been located in an area of an access system, the identification is checked for authorization for access via the access system. Access via the access system is either allowed or denied based on the result of the check. Access by an authorized person to secure areas or devices with the aid of a wireless device which is usually carried along—for example a mobile radio terminal or a DECT terminal—thus becomes considerably easier and more convenient.

Abstract: A method and an arrangement for configuration of a mobile appliance in a communication arrangement, with a communication address that is linked to its location in each case being assigned to the mobile appliance are provided. For this purpose, the location of the mobile appliance is determined in a first step, a configuration which is linked to the determined location is checked in a second step from a database, and this determined configuration is assigned to the mobile appliance in a third step.

Abstract: A method and system for locating a mobile terminal in a multicell radio system are provided. A plurality of radio base stations detect the field strength of a data transmission of the mobile terminal and the location of the mobile terminal is determined the values are provided. The mobile terminal is switched into an active state, then a plurality of the radio base stations are set to the radio channel used by the mobile terminal to be located, and the mobile terminal is prompted to emit a response message as a result of the communication of a test data transmission. The received field strength of the received response message is measured by the radio base stations and communicated to a central device, after which the location of the mobile terminal is determined by the central device on the basis of the measured values.

Abstract: There is described a method for selecting a transmission path for a communication connection of a mobile communication device, wherein at least two transmission paths can be selected by the mobile communication device. In a first step, an option is determined via the position of the communication device, in a second step, the option is accessed using the determined option on the data bank for the transmission path, in a third step, a preferred transmission path is determined using at least one entry of the data bank, and in a fourth step, the preferred transmission path is selected and used for the communication connection.
